Finaly got chance today to go over to Jetstream and get my brake system overhauled and upgraded at the same time , the current setup of Pagid pads and grooved discs was starting to feel a bit tired after 2 years hard work and after James had his mastercylinder failure at Croft i decided a complete overhaul was required .

on the list was , new master cylinder and servo , hard brake lines as the M400 , Alcon 350mm disc's new pagid RS29 all round .

Jetstream have been working with Alcon to develop a new front disc and cailper , the biggest advantage of the new disc is not just the bigger dia but its also a semi floating disc which should stop the dreaded brake vibration that most of us seem to get !!! caliper are not available yet but the disc's are very very nice !!

here is the old braided line that ran down the tunnel

hard line fitted

The new setup feels superb , the brake feel is still very good and the retardation from 140mph to standstill was enough to make me feel very sick !!!! (thanks Dave)

Great service from Dave as he fixed a rear turbo water leak and a leak on the steering rack at the same time !!

looking forward to my next track day to put them through there paces !!

A few people asked me about my upgraded brakes on Saturday , here is the thread , they have now done 12 track days and 5200 miles and are still superb with no fade and no vibration !!

It does seem to be a heat related problem , Metalman has had the same issues !! i think the solid disc goes slightly out of shape when it gets hot causing the vibration but it could also be hub related , i have used the Jetstream Alcon disc since Nov 12 and they have been superb with no judder and plenty of stopping power , i would recommend a hub and bearing upgrade if you are fitting new disc's !! i also changed my rear hubs when i fitted my new AP rear disc's as well .

I guess the best thing to do is get them very hot on track then check the runout !!!!

I,m sorry to say he still has problems but after a test drive by Matt from Jetstream on Monday we believe there is also a damper problem !! this will need sorting before anything else can be done .
