Hi All,

I'm just putting out feelers really, as you'll be aware, my gearbox gets death on a regular basis and is still fine, I have also sent my spare to Europe to have a sequential looked at, which I should have news on in the next week or two.

However due to a rather tight schedule this season, if I encounter problems before my spare returns (modified or not) and need a week or two to turn around the current one, I'd like to have a backup plan and know that I can either drive down south and buy/borrow/rent a box at short notice to keep me going.

If anyone has anything sitting gathering dust please let me know.

Cheers

Graham

BUMP,

Typical

Think my subconscious had a feeling I might have trouble soon, getting a fair old rattle and vibration on idle, my lap times were tailing off progressively today and felt like the rear wheels were dragging when I lifted off into corners.

Does any of the above gearboxes have the gearbox man treatment?

I need a strengthened box and new release bearing in my car for next weekend, does anyone have anything?

Cheers

Thanks for the offer, don't think a standard box will take the power on slicks unfortunately.

Maybe I'm being paranoid... It's happened in the past where I've suspected a major problem, and it's been something tiny and simple?

Once home last night I had a look at a few things, the flickering lights and gearbox oil pump shutdown was a blown/melted fuse on one of those fused relays... 2 leaky shocks is actually just one leaky shock,

The diff appears to be working, the release bearing noise, although still noisy, seems quieter than it was at the track, the notchy gear changes might be explained by the fact the shift cables have been rubbing on the water pump pulley and adding to the metallic noises... Hmmm

More investigating required!

Does anyone know of a way to look for signs of gearbox wear and tear problems?

Wheel bearings feel smooth enough still but there not very old

Well there's absolutely no post or courier company's doing transport today so I've left Aberdeen and Essex bound with a shock LOL at least I know it's fked unlike the box which might not be. I'll drain the box fluids and check them/replace with fresh millers tomorrow.

Will call ahead and try get a release bearing and some spark plugs while I'm down your neck of the woods smile MISSION!
