Had trouble with the fuel pump a few months ago, played about with my limited knowledge and arranged for an auto electrician to take a look today.Got the garage cleared for him and tried the car, guess what it bloody started!Presume something is obviously loose or not contacting correctly,or wasn't,any ideas would be appreciated as I don't really want to go out and come back with the aa!

Had a play about, cleaned all rear relays.shorted 2nd from right as I removed, then found fuse 2nd from the back had blown.Dont no if this was because of blowing the relay, are they connected?or wether this was the source of the problem,it's a 20amp,but was definitely intact a month ago!HELP!

Think the screwdriver blade probably contacted the pin wich I assume caused the short, but then I am thick, just wondered if this would have blown the fuse or was it blown before,as I said it was ok a month ago when the problem was first checked

Lofty I had exactly this problem a few months ago, after lots of head scratching I narrowed it down to the ECU. Replaced the ECU and it ran for about 10mins then cut out. It was actually the alternator who was the original culprit. The alternator was overcharging and mucking with the ECU. This broke my first ECU, i think it melted the ground for the fuel pump prime for what ever reason. After switching the ECU, it was only cutting out when the car is warm as the brushed in the alternator heat up and expand and create more current.

I replaced the ECU, alternator and all the fuseblocks and relays. Sorry it's probably not the news you want to hear!
Cheers vidlr!!

I had a electrical glitch recently a trip to Jetstream sorted it !!! Perhaps sometimes it's best to admit defeat and get the experts to sort .
Got an auto electrician going to take a look on Saturday Tux,if he doesn't succeed then off she goes!
