For the second time recently, the nuts holding my rear turbo to the manifold have come loose. Last time, the turbo had been fairly recently replaced and so I assumed it was just a case of needing a tweak after new gasket had bedded in etc.

I have some questions:

1) Is there a likely reason why they may have come loose a second time (apart from them just not having been tightened enough - it was done trackside by a friendly mechanic)?

2) Is there any point in loctite or similar, given the heat that's generated there?

3) Any tips for getting the best access to the nuts so that I can ensure that they are tightened properly this time - what direction do you go in from. Is it best with clam off?

Thanks very much

Dave

Some decent metal locking nuts like Philidas turret nuts.
I've never come across these before but they look like just the ticket. Do you happen to know the size?

Thank you all - lock nuts ordered.

Any further advice on getting access to the nuts? They don't seem terribly easy to get to.
