Has anyone here suffered from blown turbo's on their M12? My car has only down 11k miles so i'm somewhat surprised that apparently my rear turbo has gone south. It's off to Turbo Technics for an overhaul but after 11k?

This bill will now get added to the LSD I've just had to have fitted 'cos the original diff failed.

This is going to be an expensive month

Need to be a little careful what I say here, but having spoken to a certain Turbo expert on this forum as well as the factory today, there is a common view that this is a very rare thing to happen. The fact is that the Turbo's appeared fine before they were removed as part of the engine removal to fit the new diff.

Was there a hidden problem with the bearing/seals prior to removal? Can't tell but given my car is low mileage, it's the rear turbo, and all appeared fine prior to removal, it certainly raises some questions.

A tough one.

So after 10 (yes 10!) weeks in the garage, I now have my Noble back !

New LSD, Gearbox, Turbo's, clutch and a few other bits !!!

I can finally now enjoy the Foulks EBC and Re-map.....oh sh*t....its winter

Can't remember who described the build quality being like chocolate......finding it hard to disagree at the moment.

Still good to get it back.

Turbo Technics gave me two new Turbo's for £450 each and they give them a two year warranty. It depends on what they find when they go to refurb the Turbo unit, mine were beyond economic repair so two shiny new ones with a warranty was the option for me.

Mine only took so long as it originally went in for a failed diff, then one of the Turbo's went after refit, followed by a late assessment that the diff failure had taken the gearbox out with it.

So the seals had gone on my front turbo (lots of blue smoke), but both had excessive wear on bearings.

If you have the track day sump fitted then yes it does. I had this fitted to mine after I purchased it so I dont know if the previous owner tracked the car before and caused the damage then. Of course I was told the car had never been tracked........
