Hi Lads,

Decided I'm done with cars and want something a bit more "thrilling".
Always had fast cars, Escort Cossy, Focus RS MK1/2, Evo 6/8/9, Imprezas ect ect so sold my Evo 6 yesterday and want a new toy.

Been in a bike engined kit car and that could be what I am after, but see alot of Zetec engined ones aswell.

Where is the best place to look for a kit car, when i had the Evo i seen loads for sale and now I can't seem to find any.

Would be interested in a 90% finished one also i think but would prefer a ready to run one.

I'll be honest I know alot about cars but not much about kit cars, there is a Toniq R for sale locally but the only thing is the seats are for a slender dwarf and I am not a dwarf smile

Thanks for the replies.

Registered on locostbuilders last night.

Found a nice Westfield SEIW with a 1.7 xflow engine in it, full cage ect looks good, maybe go see it on Saturday, its a fair trek for me from Inverness to Carlisle but would just A frame it back.

I do all my own mechanical work so that's no issue, only jobs i don't tackle myself are timing belts smile

Did think about getting a GBS kit from flebat and doing my own build but from what i read costs can rocket before you know it and I fancy something I just just get in an drive or needs little work.

Van Cleef - If its a grey Toniq R - I have been in that before, its an animal. Has a nice wing on it aswell.

I have put a deposit down on a Westfield SEIW with a 1.7xflow (very tuned) in it, full cage, pro race wheels ect ect. Going to pick it up on Saturday.

Had a blast in one earlier in the week and it was good fun. If I still fancy a bike engine I will convert it over winter possibly.

Anyway its all insured now and I will make the 500mile trip for it on Saturday.

Your old Toniq R was ballistic. Absolutely mental.

I'm a big lad (17stone) but its a widebody and the seats measure 14" so I will fit nicely.

Leaving at 4am tomorrow to pick it up

Sorry I didn't word that correctly.

Yep still getting the Westie.

Just saying the Toniq R is mental. Needed a couple of wee bits when I was at it last, broken reflectors and a bot of cracked bodywork, nothing major.

Picked this up last Saturday.

Love it, didn't get much time to drive it.

Went Inverness to Carlisle, back home on Saturday night, off to Edinburgh on Sunday for the Rugby then New York, got back yesterday.

Let the wife unload the car and I rolled it out the garage and went my first proper "run" in it. LOVE IT.

Hope the picture works.

Thanks lads.

Have/had 2 issues.

1 - It brokedown on me after about 90miles, luckily it was on the way home and abot 250metres from my house. Turned out the alternator failed, had my trusty jump pack with me so strapped the bonnet to the top of the rollcage and left the jump pack connected to the battery to get me home. (The previous owner gave me the old alternator, the new one sounded like a bag of bolts when i shook it, had only been on 2 months.

2 - Quite a bad flatspot from 2500 - 2750, I dropped the car off on Saturday to Ricky Gauld to get a set up,tune and dyno run.

Can't wait to get it back, should be this weekend, was hoping to have it for doing the Golspie Sprint but doesn't look like i will have time to pick it up.

Love how easy it is to work on and how accesible things are.

My plans, change to a digital dash, get some nicer switches, maybe put a new engine in it over winter, might go down the bike engined route oh and have it painted (best mate is a painter)

Well a few needed updates.

Car went to Ricky Gauld to get the above issues sorted, just needed the jets messing with and a good tune. Job done.

Bottom end started to knock during the tune so he has kept it to fit big end bearings, caught it before it got serious.

Hopefully have it back in a couple of weeks.
