I've just bought a MK1 Grantura would love to get some more info on the car.
The Reg is 90 RTU and the car was originally white it had a Bristol BS1 2.0ltr 6 cylinder 1950s race engine in it from new. Will add some original Photo's soon.

The engine is no longer with the car. Being the same engine that was in the cooper and frazer nash race cars of the late 50s the engine has a high value now. But if i can find any History on the car that would be great

Wacky!

Handling is probably more of a matter of how far back you are willing to push the lump. Beyond that, some of the added power probably made up for various deficits.

Do you have pictures showing the engine in the car?

Best,
B.

Edited for crap syntax

I don't. But I've got the first tax book of the car and a letter from the original owner with photo's
of the outside of the car.

I'll scan them tomorrow when i down at the office.

Definitely a Mk1 any idea who the owner was?. The Bristol engine sure put a big bulge in the Bonnet. Does the car still look like this?
Thank you very much for those photo's. Can I ask how you came by them and do you have anymore? The little car is a full project car now as it hasn't been on the road sence the early 70s . The person driving the car is going to depend on the year of the photo. I've got all the tax books if you no the age of the photo I can tell you the owner at the time.

Hi,
Glad to put the photo's up. Im afraid i dont know where or when they were taken, i only have these 2 shots of the car. I have a large collection of photo's from the sixties of old TVRs granturas Griffs etc ive been collecting them for years, i buy a lot from Ferret Fotographics, he always digs out new ones for me from his massive collection of negatives.
If your car had a Bristol engine was it from new, in which case what is the middle part of the Ch/ No, 7/f/ 7/b or 7/c is normal or 7/Fs as with Cantus Mk1.
By the way i own MK2a 7/b/296, hence my interest in Granturas
Yes the Bristol engine was in it from new I've got the first tax book of the car. The ch/No is 7/c the car is in a sorry state at the min And supporting a real bad orange paint job. I will be returning the car back to white.

Thanks for the info, would love to see some pics as is now, or any others you have for that matter.
I see you are in N.I, is that where you came across the car?, it always fascinates me how these cars turn up, was it some ones who you knew or locked in a garage forgotten about for years ?
The last owner had the car form the mid 70s. It had been sitting in a garage untouched for the last five years or so. The car has been in ireland sence the late 60s.
