Any up grades for TVR Vixen door hinges?

Hi All,

I was trial fitting the doors and noticed the play in the hinges.
By hand the play was hardly noticed but with the load of the door it is too much (for me).
Found out that the steel pin of course was tight corroded in the alu hinge.
Therefore the top of the pin had worn the hole in the steel bracket, now oval.
Got 2 pins out took me some time. Will do the others later.
Now the question to you is;

- any solution by using copper or alu or brass pin to overcome this problem??
- any other up-grade ???

20 Years ago I put in copper bushes and drilled them to exact diameter for new stainless steel pins.
Welded the stainless steel pins to the steel bracket and till today no play in the hinges.

Bedankt William,

I was afraid the copper is to soft but your experience makes clear that with a tight and exact fit the pressure is spread over the full length resulting no wear.
Thats the way to go.
