Goodwood Revival Who is going
Discussion
Looking forward to seeing some great cars and great Guys again this year and some of the TVRs we had at the 72nd Meeting which was probably one of the greatest events ever I guess a never to be repeated experience as next time I guess more people will attend and that was the beauty of this years event the spirit of the Revival without the crowds

Ticket price keeps putting me off £88 for me and the GF for entry only.
The Best money you can spend if you book the Friday its cheaper than Saturday and food well there is Tesco there where you can buy food at sensible prices if you don't want an over priced burger and you don't have to get the program although the ear Piece Radio is worth having as you can keep up with the commentary anywhere or take a packed lunch. All Told a great Day
And should you decide to go down on the Saturday without a Ticket the Over the Road area which also has a lot of stalls and the Bonhams Auction Tent is great with the biggest free classic car show with all the pre 73 cars parked up many with there show descriptions and some even for sale signs so all in all a great package.

Is £44 considered expensive for full a day's entertainment? Maybe I'm out of touch but with people paying £50-£60 to watch 90mins. football this looks good value to me.
Andrew
PS do people actually pay that much to watch overpaid men kick a dead Cow filled with air round a field Crazy

I think you're stepping back in time too there Andrew; it's not been dead cow & pig's bladder for 50 years. More likely space age technology synthentics filled with nitrogen
You can tell how much I know about Football just a little less than I do about classic cars but at least interested and learning about classic cars A

Nice to see Goodwood mixing it up and letting new cars get a shot.
In what respect? As far as I'm aware the cut-off date for the Revival grid has not changed. Andrew

Interesting that there are 3 Granturas in the Fordwater and I've been trying to get ours in for a couple of years, despite it winning the race overall a few years back in the hands of Ian Bankhurst.
I got in touch last eyar and provided all the info on the new owners and more info on the car yet the phone didn't ring.
They have however said that we will be considered for future events. I was disappointed as clearly winning the race holds no favours for future entries and GR was one of the reasons we purchased the car although I understand that nothing in this area of racing is guaranteed, LMC included.
I may be wrong but i think Goodwood it may be the colour of the School Tie of the Owner as much as the car itself but i may be wrong but its still a fantastic eventI got in touch last eyar and provided all the info on the new owners and more info on the car yet the phone didn't ring.

Fantastic Day here are a few pictures an early start and was on the field just after 7.30 but as I was only going for one day this year I wanted to see as much as possible.
Great to see the Ecosse transporter I thought it had gone abroad after it sold at Bonhams last year
Sorry about the quality of the picture Richard Pavey with his Grantura Mk2a
Great to Meet The Timelord on here from Cornwall looking so well after his brain surgery lovely to meet you.
I do love the way you can get so close to the action at Goodwood in a way that you cant get elsewhere or at least I have not experienced yet elswhere
And Goodwood do it all so well
TVR even represented in the Hall
Who let the St Trinians kids out
Anyone for tennis
These next two are a show grid of cars raced by Sir Jackey Stewart interesting to see how diverse they where fantastic to see them all together
Good to see the TVRs in action only two as Kirks car was replaced by a Lotus not sure why.
The last few hours where spent in the pits working on Richards MK2a 4 years ago when I first went to the Revival I did not think 4 years later I would be stripping the shocks off a car in the Pits but in good old fashioned club racing he is there on a budget and no back up crew so while he sorted the cooling system I took off the shocks and re set them as the car was dipping all over the place on the corners and he has not had any track time since buying the car and they where set so soft and one was shot so I put on the opposite side where it wont be needed as badly however we wont know until sunday if its helped but hats of to him for just getting the car there.
The white overalls are not so white anymore
So all told a great day and being able to help a little was the icing on the cake
Fingers crossed the rest of the weekend goes ok
Andrew
Also good to see Richard out even if not in his TVR I am sure he will have some great Video as he has some fancy new cameras on so something to look forward to

It's got nothing to do with old school ties Andrew.
So are you going to apply to enter the M Racer in the 73rd GRRC meeting they had races for 70s cars in which the Capris where eligible last year so your M would have been eligible that would be fantastic.A

Yes its streamed live all weekend I will be watching tomorrow to see how the Grantura goes with the Shock adjustment the commentator yesterday thought the suspension had broken it was so bad but as they cant test before the race it fingers crossed for the adjustment but anything will be better than yesterday as she was like a boat in a storm going round the cornersA

Great pics from our roving reporter Andrew.
The Jackie Stewart Marcos looks like the one auctioned at the end of July...
and I didn't know a Stag Fastback / Coupe even existed until this afternoon.
Many thanks for a fascinating thread.

I wondered who would spot that well done I thought I would make no comment and see who spotted it The Jackie Stewart Marcos looks like the one auctioned at the end of July...

A great event as always. Spotted three old TVRs over the road, a lovely white granny which is featured in the "early photos" thread, the 1800s OLO which is also in the thread in the Octane mag feature with Steve's red mk3. Also spotted a red Vixen s2 which is one I haven't seen before - does it belong to anybody on here?
The red one's mine, imported back from Belgium....complete with flapping bonnet and a few niggles that the M25 threw up! A

Sadly the white Grantura only lasted 3 laps before disappearing in terminal engine smoke, think the series 3 Grantura finished 6th. one of the post event highlights was watching lots of race cars driving out of the circuit along the roads to get back to the campsite where their transporters were parked! Geoff
It was so nice to meet you Geoff so nice to put faces to names especially as I have never met a real Timelord.Andrew
