I am looking at getting a TVR as a weekend car i drive BMWs most of the time although i have had a Porsche but am looking for advice as to what to get i believe that the best value are the 3LT cars and am told they are very good and i keep reading of people getting up to 200bhp from them i was thinking of fitting a V8 as some have done this however if 200bhp can be achieved then there does not seem the point.
I do rather like the look of the 3000s however is there anythings i should look out for i know that Bluezealand replied regards his car up on another Forum but i thought i should ask here as there will be more experts i am sure
Thanks in advance

If you would like 200+ bhp and a V8, i suggest you look for one of the "S" series e.g. V8S.
You should be able to find one for £10,000
Thanks but its an earlier car I am wanting as getting bored with the clinical feeling of modern cars and although the later S cars are Classics its really a 60s or 70s car that I am after chatting to a friend today he suggested a V6 Tuscan but there don't seem to be that many around and I guess one of those tuned up would be fun

Yes Have Spanners but not much spare time love tinkering and maintaining which i know older cars need much more than a modern car budget between 12 and 20 maybe a little more for a special car

There's the Red 3000S or the Silver 3000S on Car and Classics £18,000
Yes i have seen them however both although original un restored and look good enough i would prefer to buy a well restored car such as the one Franks Friend has just done that looks fantastic or an older restoration i saw a red one at Le Mann Classic this year and i rather fancied that there was also a Yellow one i saw at Burly Horse power that had an Alpha Engine in but i guess these kind of restored cars are far and few between.
That Silver Turbo one thats been restored recently looks fantastic but a bit pricey and not sure about the Turbo i saw the Peter Wheeler Taimar and was Tempted but really want a 3000S

Yeah...MOT failure, I should scrap it ...50k a blueprinted and balanced engine, unleaded converted, 5 speed converted,up-rated cooling, fully rebuilt chassis, refurbished screen frame and side screens, new hood, new carpets, central locking alarmed, new tyres, Wolfrace wheels, fog light conversion...might be worth a couple of K if I put it on Ebay as spares.
Adrian@
Joolz would be happy to see the back of it.
Sorry not white black or green but apart from that i am not fussy Silver and light blue or better still Gulf Blue.
What did she fail on who did the servicing on the car or was it not serviced before the MOT?

How bout this

http://www.tvr-webmart.co.uk/tvr_full_advert.asp?a...

you might want to call Adrian, after all he is the guru and specialist..........
I did go and have a look at that last week was not that impressed 15k maybe but 25k not a chance was rather scruffy and needs a few jobs doing to even tidy it up and get everything working properly and the paint is far from what i would expect for that money.
I have spoke to a number of dealers but there all say that good restored cars dont come up often
