Hello All,

I need help! I have the above car and hope someone might recognise it and have some information on its history. I don’t know much about it, other than it was obtained by the chap I got it from in 1968. He came across it because the chap he got if from owed him money. Unfortunately he couldn’t remember the chaps’ name. He put it into a garage in 1968 and that’s where I found it in 1995. After all this time, I now have the funds to restore her. My intention is to keep it original. It needs a Coventry Climax Engine which I am looking for. Any information would be gratefully received.

Here is a link to pictures of the car on Photobox and a link to an article OldClassicCars ran for me.

Looking forward to your comments.

Hi,

Yes they are wobbly webs, made specifically for TVR. There are no the same as the lotus ones.

I’ve spoken to the TVRCC – unfortunately they don’t have any information on the car. The records held by TVR, they were missing a few cars and this is one of them! I have checked with the DVLA too. Since it wasn’t registered from the old paper system to the new electronic system, the paper records were destroyed by them! They didn’t archive!! Records held by Greater London Council in relations to tax disc etc were destroyed in a flood they had 20 years ago!! At each turn, a road block – hence my plea here. I will keep the forum informed and I’m setting up a blog to document the restoration.

Hi All,
Thanks for the feedback. I’ve got Peters book and had a good look through it. I’ve sent him an email this evening to see if he has any info or is interested in the car for the book. I’ve also been in contact with Klaus from Germany (www.tvr-grantura.de), he actually came over and looked at the car. He doesn’t know any of its history but is interested in the car and continues to provide advice and guidance. I’ve contacted Mike B as well and await to see what engine he has and how much. I’m also sending an email now to John Danbury Motorsport to see if they have something.

Again, appreciate all you feedback/advice. Please keep it coming. I will provide updates as I get them.
