are the manifolds removed from engine from under the car, or can they be removed from above?

mine being a restoration job, the body was off when I got it so cannot remember what room there was in the engine bay.

does the starter motor need to be removed to remove the nearside manifold as well, I would assume this is the case?

definitely not along the standard lines, with what I`ve got in the lump its going to need to breeth, it will be a whole new system front to back, its the usual case of calculating pipe diameter and length required and then seeing how it can be packaged in the engine bay, at least the v6 goes down the sides unlike the griff and chim v8s going forward hehe

I`ve done a few before, https://www.facebook.com/clivefppa

these were done recently for a Vixen.

so how long is the standard starter motor? mine must be hiding in my junk pile somewhere as I`ve fitted the smaller hi torque motor to gain a bit of space.

if its possible to cater for the size of the standard starter with a removeable section then that will be the way to go.

have these made on the car, they may look a little complicated to some, but I`m sure once they are off it will be easier to see.
front 2 pipes on each bank are fixed separately to the others, the pipe going through the chassis triangle behind the back of the wheelarch then gives more room for the other 2 pipes on each bank to fit nicely, offside are removed from under the car, on the nearside the manifold is fitted from above, the bottom part of the headers are fitted from below, and connected via v clamps and a bolted flanged joint on pipe 4, this is to allow access to the starter motor by removing the bottom section without disturbing the manifold above.
bolted flange joint behind merge collector, with short stub pipe sliding into existing exhaust pipe to silencer, unbolting the flange joint allowing you to remove manifolds without removing the ret of the cars exhaust system.
