tuscan v6 restoration. dynamo vs alternator
Discussion
hi all. as i am getting to the final stage of a 1970 tuscan v6 restoration project i wonder if anyone can help me out on a small problem i encountered.
instead of using the original dynamo i tried to fit the later type of alternator on its proper ford bracket, but only to find out the total height of it does not allow the bonnet to close, which is a bit annoying. the lot is too high.
has anyone of tried this mod before, and if so: where was it mounted? some pics would be greatly appreciated.
thanks, geert van hout

hi all. i have received an answer to my problem by one of our fellow tvr enthousiasts. apparently you can get modern alternators in classic design. appearance therefore stays the same, and fitting problems are solved because the design of the alternator is as per original.. see photo attached.
thank you again david for a very constructive solution to my problem. case closed.
have a good weekend all. regards, geert
