I have a 71 TVR Vixen 2500 (vixen frame).
I just sourced a larger 7/8th inch front anti roll bar (from a spitfire). I am hopping that this bar will be a better match for the heavy TR6 motor up front.

I am in the USA and have found a supplier that sells some very nicely made ARB mounts containing nylatron bushings.
I have seen solid ARB mounts in the past that were crudely made but these look much better. I have solid steering rack mounts from this same vendor and I am very impressed with them.

Question - Do folks think this mount is an improvement over the stock rubber and U-bolt design? Also will this put more stress on the mounting points of the car (the car is not raced). I would hate to damage the frame by doing something like this.

Please let me know your thoughts.
thank you

Good point I will have to see if it will be closer. Regardless I think other things scrape first on this car. Looking to have exhaust done in the near future.

Parts from this vendor are first rate but he mostly supports the TR6 crowed.

I am already running rose joints (one male and one female screwed into each other). I am thinking those should work fine as they allow more adjustment. It looks like a close match from the Spitfire bar and the Stock one.
I should be fine.
Bigger question is how will the car handle with the bigger bar. Do folks use rear bars on these cars? if yes how do they mount them?

thank you

It's not 100% the same but very close. I think it will work. I will report back to the group when I fit it.

The spitfire bar is an exact replacement on my car. With the exception of the mounting brackets. I will be buying the alloy ones depicted above.

It will be interesting to see how the car handles with the larger bar.
