I'm on a quest to track down an 'Old Flame' a TVR Vixen 2500. A lot of hours/blood/sweat/money and tears (tears mainly from my better half I have to say) went on the car which delayed the saving for our first home, but I won't go down that road today ! Moving on ...

To cut a long story short, for our 25th Anniversary I tried to find the TVR when we first started 'courting'. Now it's approaching the 30th anniversary (no dont reach for that JD) and I am still looking for it.

As a surprise, I thought of trying to track down the car to see what has happened to it and hope it hasn't gone to the TVR in the sky ! Or even the slight possibility to buy it back. I have photo's. The last bit of info I found out was it was last on the road in 1992 in Bristol and he was white.

If you know to which direction to point me towards in trying to find this special piece of our history I would really appreciate your assistance as i haven't the foggiest to where to go from here.

Thank you for taking time in reading this.

Your first port of call would be the TVR Car Club, if the owner is a member they may be able to pass on an email. I believe you can request current keeper details from the DVLA, but you need to have a good reason - not investigated this so have a quick google.

Best of luck
Matt
Hi Matt

Thank you for your post.

I spoke to the DVLA and the guy told me that if it is for personal reasons they would not give information out. So I thought it was not worth completing the V888 form. But I'll have a google to see how people have got over this hurdle in the past.

Once again
Thank you

Yes, as above. I think the club won't give you the current owners details, but will contact them with your details to see if they are interested in making contact.

Or you could just post an old photo on here to see if anyone knows the car, some of us have been around old TVRs for longer than we care to remember...

Oliver.
Hi Oliver

I spoke to the TVR Club and with their great assistance they are the ones who found out it was last registered in Bristol and it is white now.
The picture I have is when it was first bought it. It is a bit grainy the photo - no digital cameras then!

Thank you for looking at my post.

Hmm... Untaxed since May 1992 so my money would be on gone now I'm afraid.
I feared this was the case, as one last attempt I will email the TVR owners abroad.

Thank you for your time and assistance.

You know the chassis number? I own a white vixen 2500.
Hi Johndvh, thank you for contacting me.

I dont have the chassis number, I will have to be subtle and ask my better half if he has any information. Although my gut feeling is, we haven't got it, as I do most of the paper work etc.

But leave it with me and I'll try to get the info.

Thank you once again for contacting me.

Morning !

Wow, Thank you Chris / Mr Tiger firstly for posting a message to let me know it was on eBay but also for remembering me and my quest. Honestly I cannot thank you enough. I can’t believe it’s appeared on eBay. I’m so excited and happy.

I emailed the guy to see if I can go and see the car. Whether or not I’ll be able to bid for it, I’ll wait to see how the auction will go.

I’ll keep you posted to how it turns out.
Thank you once again.
Trish

Morning

No unfortunately.
We tried several times to make contact with the person advertising to ask to call us so we could find out more about the car, or if he owned/held the log book etc. before the only day of seeing it was Tuesday, but he never responded.
I thought it was too risky didn’t place a bid.

Really sad and disappointed. But so happy it’s still out there.
I’ll try one more time to ask if he could past on my contact info to the new owner to make contact.

Thank you for thinking about my quest.

Evening Everyone,

Thank you so much of thinking of me with regards to our old TVR, much appreciated.

Mr Tiger, Chris I havent forgotten about the photos it just they are in the attic somewhere! I will send you them soon.

No, unfortunately I didn't entertain the bidding. Still no news on the log book, and the guy didn't respond when we asked about the it. It isn't meant to be, I just hope who ever got it, treats her well and loving. Sentimental I know.

Thank you everyone.
Take Care in theses bunker times.
