A Little spin up North today and 900 Miles later back to Kent where she left to go to Scotland 9 years ago.
If anyone has any history on the car Tim would love to know.
We think originally Blue and last Black
James has done some great work but with a young familey and other projects it was just not getting the time needed.
Looking forward to helping Tim Move the project forward.

Hi Tony
Great to hear from you if you get a message from Phil he is rebuilding the car as i already have a Vixen and a Tuscan and he has a Tuscan so wanted a Vixen both great cars but both good at different things so a great pairing.
Hopefully you may be able to help him with some of the Missing history.
Have a good trip
Andrew

Is it Tim the mechanic that is building the car?
Scary how time flies. Nearly a year since Purchase. Be good to see some progress pics of how it is coming along?

N.
Yes My Mate Tim was going to build it but after 6 months decided that he was never going to get the time i had sourced the parts missing and engine by then so rather than advertise my good mate and Deputy RO Phil asked if he could take it on i had a Dealer wanting to buy it but thats not what it about so Phil doing it means it stays in kent where it started life many years ago so rather looking forward myself to seeing some progress when its finished we will all see the result 10 months but only 3 months since it went over to Phils .
I am sure your Good Ladys T350 Wont take so long i guess your a T350 expert already wink

All,
It's me that is now custodian of GYG60J. Always wanted a Vixen and couldn't resist this opportunity.
As acquired the chassis and running gear have already been refurbished to a good standard- I can see that an awful lot of hard work has gone into that element of the restoration.
Andrew had acquired an engine and gearbox for the car, unfortunately the clutch system was cable and the car should have hydraulic, luckily an eagle eyed friend (thanks again Chris) sent me a link to the correct 'boxing/bellhousing, another friend gifted me another 'box so I now have three.
The shell had been stripped and is mostly good but, as you'd expect from a 45 year old glass fibre car, there is some crazing in places which will need sorting.
So, in short, if I post pictures now it would look as if I've done nothing but that isn't the case!
Once stuff that shows starts to happen rest assured I will report progress.
Phil.
Plus rear screen sorted as that was missing

Being pedantic Andrew, with a YG registration prefix I suspect it started life (apart from Blackpool) in the Leeds area. I passed my test in my Mum's Fiesta which was SYG684W so that sticks in my mind. Wonder went it made its way to Kent...

Oliver.
Who knows Oliver i am sure Phil would like to know more

Funny I was wondering what had happened to this car the other day when I clappped eyes on the plate in the garage.

Bought from David Gerald circa 2000 as a body/chassis and boxes of bits, it spent several years with me in Kent.

It was me who stripped the body (never again) , bought the new bonnet, spax etc and refurbed the chassis, suspension, steering, uprights, brakes etc etc and polybushed the suspension and so on. I sold it to James around 2006/2007 maybe.

After refurbing the chassis I got the idea of sticking a 302 V8 and T5 box into it both of which I'd rebuilt but never got around to putting in the car or changing the engine or diff mounts before I sold it. I sold both the engine and box separately when I sold the car onto James. At the same time that I had this I also had a black Vixen S1 that had spent most of it's life on Jersey, but can't for the life of me remember the reg. Anyway the usual story of one too many cars/projects and getting distracted by Italian stuff meant I didn't have the time and needed the space and both trevors went.

Do be aware. Although I didn't get around to modifying the chassis for a V8, I do remember that I installed the stiffer springs for the shocks (both front and rear) which I think were supposed to be for a Tuscan V8 which I'd bought from DG. Also if memory serves the Anti Roll bar is the thicker/stiffer item from the GT6.

Anyway numerous cars later I have now returned to the TVR fold having bought Dave Connor's booted Grantura.

Nick

Getting there Phil
Seems to be a pattern emerging where projects get finished by a different owner than started the project great to see more cars getting back on the road.
