I have contacted the usual places: DG don't stock them and Adrian prefers not to supply as considered too difficult for diy.
I wondered if someone has a pair which they would consider parting with.
If not i will get some made but it would be easier to find some for sale.
I already have quick release hinges on my 3000S which work very well.

Adrian,
I understand your position 100% no problem.
Imho i thought it better to mention i have already tried the normal contacts, otherwise people will suggest contact you or DG.
So has someone got a pair of Quick release hinges for sale PLEASE.
I am a retired Engineer and can adjust things correctly.
I was in the Aerospace Industry at Marconi Space and Defence Systems Portsmouth as QC Engineer. We always had specifications and build procedures to follow.
Many thanks in advance
Alan

Why do i want QR Hinges.
Why not rolleyes, i have them on my 3000S and find them very handy.
Very easy mod even for DIY.
On my 3000S i also have a 5 speed gearbox which is also very nice but requires a lot more work to fit.
If or when i need to replace bullet connectors in the Wiring Harness or remove the Rad in comfort or relaminate around the frame that supports the Bonnet.
Imho this is exactly right.
I got the info from "M FIX" on the web many thanks, which has imho lots of very good hints/tips for "M" series.

The adapter parts have now been machined, 10 minutes on a friends lathe.
Just waiting for the "R" clips to arrive and new 1/2 UNF 20 tpi set screws to arrive.
I will cut the heads off the set screws then screw into adapters.
When the job's finished i will post photos.

Would fitting a flat braided earth from bonnet to one of the studs on the chassis be a good idea. Where it is attached to the chassis stud you could use a brass wing nut to detach easily. The braided is more flexible when opening and closing bonnet.
I'm just thinking out aloud.

Here's photo of hinges. The 1/2" unf set screw needs to have the head cut off to length to suit. This then screws into the bonnet frame tube. If the thread is seized in frame tube leave as is and just cut off to required length.

I hope this helps someone

yes a little different.
Mine the Dia is 30mm and the "R" clip is for 30mm dia so maybe the clip is a little tighter. If the 1/2" unf thread is rusted solid in the Bonnet Frame tube you can leave it in place. Just cut through the 1/2" dia at the bottom where it increases to 20mm dia.
You then screw on 1/2 lock Nut and my adapter, cross drill for "R" Clip 5mm dia. Job done. Assemble with Copperslip smile Or if your feeling rich you can make the adapter from stainless
