My Tuscan will be in Grenwich Village, N.Y.C in either December or January. It will be kept there for as long as possible(12 months by the looks of things). Have to travel with work so when I'm in town it will always be out and about.

Can anyone let me in on some scenic routes leading upstate?

Also I will drive from N.Y to San Fran and back just to so I can say I've done it. Any advice? Anyone want to join the cruise?

I will be stopping in the windy city. Always wanted to watch a Bulls match in the days of MJ, Pippen, Grant and big Phill. I think I'm a bit late for that but it should be nice anyway. I will also do a N.Y to Tampa to Bradenton to Miami and back trip.

A bit concerned leaving the car in N.Y with my other half while I travel. She is a PistonHead too but has a rather strange obsession with scuffing rims on curbs and having low speed collisions with inanimate objects. She thinks that I am leaving her a spare key! I would do but repairing it will be a nightmare and you guys wouldn't want to see a battered Tuscan with wrecked rims, would you?

I will post all the progress here. I have a few days off and will be back in London to look at a couple of examples. I want a wild colour but I think Moonraker black w. grey or tan hide would be perfect. Also thinking about putting some sat-nav in as I hate paper maps.

It will be nice not having to pay $1.44c per litre for a while. I am sure my insurance premium will more than make up for it though. I'll keep you guys posted.

Chi town is a must. Want to salute the Bull's home court for a while. Watched and taped almost every match when M.J and Pippen did their thing. One of the most awe inspiring sights is M.J on a mission. Just have to see for myself where it all went down.

Mar..Uk,
Did you get sorted with a Car?
DD

DD, not yet. I have had no time. I haven't driven a car of any descrption for close to 4 months. Now for a guy with petrol running through his veins that's not good.

Flew into London at 5:40 am then left same day to fly back to Asia at 6pm. 26 hours of flying in 38 hours is not my idea of fun. Plus I'm convinced B.A make a special effort to give me the blandest looking hostesses.

I have been online almost everyday looking at what's on offer. There are a few guys selling their Tuscans on PH at really good prices due to quick sales. Got to buy with my head though.

Also looking at my own 360 for Jan/Feb/Mar 2003. A few friends have decided to buy themselves early Christmas presents and I'm a sucker for peer pressure. It's a painful job researching as I am so far away from the cars. Other half is urging me to go and sort out the Tuscan and get it to N.Y pronto. Hmm, couldn't be the fact that she will be there when I am traveling could it? I think the keys will be traveling with me.

In N.Y now and looking at the empty space in the garage of the new apartment. Bloody hell I can see my Tuscan sitting there already. Had a thorough bag search on the way out here with the usual "why are you coming to N.Y?" questions. I think a quick glimpse inside my bags convinced them I was genuine.

Anyway, anyone know who owns the black/black with black spiders Tuscan in the classifieds? Luca, I'm looking at you for this one. Are they a PH? Not in the business of buying bad examples. Especially not when it will be sent to N.Y. Crap, TVR-eng can't even get round to returning a call/e-mail so I am trusting they will be even worse when it comes to shipping parts out to N.Y.

The other half is giving me a headache with the constant "go to London and send it over now!" phone calls. Help me out guys before my eardrums are perforated. Looking for a few nice examples ready to test when I make it into London. Anything for a peaceful life eh?

Bloody hell!

I thought the garage was included in the rent! Got to shell out $550 per month to keep my Tuscan safe and sound.

Few questions for any of the guys who've taken their TVR to the U.S.

1. Which insurance broker?
2. Where to go for servicing?
3. Who to get spares from?

Also, anyone know how much the 18" spiders are?

Thanks

Goodness me, I've only just read this post....anything I can do?
LB

Do you know the car I'm on about in the PH classifieds? Anyone on here? I like the look of it but would swap the rims to the original silver spiders. Do you know of any used good examples about?
Give me a shout if you see any Cerbera's in Wild Oyster. The Mrs is after one to sit next to the Tuscan in NYC.

P.S I've decided to go for a 340R too Down in Miami at the mo and I will keep the 340R here - perfect weather.

What will happen when you break down? Will the car have to go back to the UK?

TVR, break down? Never! You must be mistaking your marques. I think you'll find it's VW or Mercedes that makes unreliable cars.

Seriously though, I've seen a few Loutus Esprits and I'm sure they aren't sent back home to be serviced. There's another PH in Florida with a very tasty looking Esprit. I'm going to e-mail him to find out what he does about servicing.

As for the Tuscan and Cerbera, not quite sure yet as they will be based in NYC. Again Faisal(TVR-Freak.com) has his Cerbera is San Fran so I imagine he has someone in the know looking after his baby.

You have to buy the best:

type "TVR" in the "album search" and have a look at an album called A BEAUTY and A BEAST by SPEED 8

I'm sure you want this beastie

Christof

Christof, if you only knew my friend. I try to explain what TVR is all about to friends of mine all over the world. Some have heard of TVR, others haven't. Without having to resort to the "have you seen Swordfish" line, I simply show them the pics of your car I have on all 3 of my laptops. Your car sums it all up for me and has converted many guys previously blind to TVR.

I would be after your car but I'm buying the Cerbera for Mrs Maranello. She wants the Wild Oyster with Cream interior! Nothing less. Bloody women.

P.S What are you doing up at 03:37(presuming you're in Germany now)?

No wonder I haven't been able to access your site for a month! Duh!

What about this combination: Cerbera in NYC, Lotus in Miami and Tuscan in London/South France?

I have got to have the Tuscan and might just bring it to NYC for periods if maintenance is going to be a problem.
