info and comments 280i

I'm in the US (transplanted Brit) so it seems a 280i
is the latest model available to me.
Not that I could afford a really late one anyway.
I've read quite a lot about the wedges but would like to find out if the 280 six is the same as the six in the US Mustang. A ford identifying number for the engine would be good.
From what I have already gleaned the problem areas seem to be the window motors, no-one seems to know what planet they came from, and the frame under the sills.
The rusty frame could be less of a problem here as this type of car tends to be "put away" for the winter.
Thanks for any help

Thanks for the info.
Both of the links went straight to my favorites.
This seems to be a very good board.
I shall certainly try (very hard) to get to Lebonon on
the Friday. I know one of the weekend days would be better but alas I work at weekends. I'm in Chews
Landing, NJ, that's in the South.
I saw one 280i recently it was sadly in very bad condition.
Thanks again.
