I was hugely sad when the GT90's revival series died out a few years back because I grew up in the 90's absolutely loving GT racing.

Lack of entries and interest killed it off but it seems it's back with a bang. Clearly someone has been pushing for it's return because it's been included in the Blancpain Endurance schedule alongside modern GT racers.

There are plenty of 90's GT cars still out there in raceable condition so hopefully grids will be bigger than last time.

Looks like the entry list for Monza is just as bad if not worse than the last of the GT90's races which is a massive shame.

Any chance it'll pick up for Silverstone or is this dead in the water already?

Well it looks like they're undeterred by the complete lack of interest.

I can't really speak French but got the link from another forum. They said it means the original three behind the BPR series are getting behind a proper revival as it's the 20th anniversary of the first BPR series.

It's apparently known that Patrick Peter is one of the best people in Europe for organising classic race events so maybe it'll work out better.

Really doubt it though.

Attended with the Lotus Esprit GT1 to the BPR 'reunion' at Paul Ricard circuit at weekend - some lovely cars and of course the Lotus was the most 'original' BPR car there, but some other nice machinery about, Porsche GT1, Maclaren F1 and F1 long tail versions etc...

The group C cars were the highlight of a great weekend - not that busy with spectators which was a shame.
Bit like a mini Le mans Classic - needs to have improved advertising in future.
Amazing to see it like that. Is this the one that was the GT2 car returned back to original spec or is it the spare one that was for sale by the guy who restored the Elise GT1 road car?

Any chance you're sticking the 'V8' stickers on too?

I really hope some of the F1 GTR owners restore their cars to their original liveries rather than have them as the default LM lookalike Papaya Orange. Or just have more owners of BPR cars restore them and enjoy them on track like you guys did this weekend.

Any chance the Lotus is going to be at Silverstone Classic?

From the press release it looks like there'll be a good few cars on display.

"90s GT Legends
Evocative GT cars from the 1990s will be making their first appearance at the Silverstone Classic with an all-new grid planned for this year’s event. More than 40 blockbuster machines are expected from an era that included the McLaren F1, Lister Storm, Porsche 911 GT1, Chrysler Vipers and many more. These stupendous cars will be in action both on all three days, giving fans plenty of opportunity to see them at flat out speeds. "

Excellent stuff. Shame there's no actual race series but at least the cars are getting run and getting out so people can see them.

Hunter, did you ever say which team/s ran your 993's? Would be interesting to see the liveries.
