So it seems that from Thursday, Motors TV will be available through Freeview; https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1015223001...

However, it seems you need an internet connected TV or box. Anyone know if you can also receive it through Virgin Media or a laptop? I don't have a smart TV so it looks like I might have to buy another piece of hardware to be able to watch it. can anyone explain in simple terms what I need to do to be able to watch it? Thanks!!

Thats an idea, I have a PS3 and an Xbox. It would be really handy if I could watch it through either of those. Anyone know for sure?

While it may not have the best quality picture or whatever, I can deal with that since I'm coming from having no coverage of WEC or V8's etc..

What I would like to know is, in simple terms, how can I receive it?

I have the basic Virgin media package, no TV aerial signal (hence Virgin media) A Non-Smart TV, an Xbox 360 a laptop and a PS3. Will any of that enable me to receive Motors or will I need another piece of hardware? If so, what?

Thanks, Olly

If you've been with Virgin a while, it may be worth comparing the price of your package with what they are currently offering on the website and giving them a ring if there is a difference. They can be very accommodating in moving packages and offering discounts, as long as you don't go in all guns blazing threatening to leave, so you may be able to upgrade your TV package for nothing (in effect).
Thanks for that, I'll give it a try. I mean, I could upgrade and get Sky F1 as well but I like the cheap options!

So new question; what's the cheapest piece of hardware you'd have to buy in order to get motors tv, assuming you have a normal non smart tv.

Yes! I consider myself reasonably up to speed with technology but this has me boggled.

What I'd also like to know is what happens if, like me, you have a broadband connection but no signal through the aerial? A regular freeview/freeview HD box is useless to me because of the lack of signal (hence Virgin Media)

Can I just plug the required freeview HD box into the internet and get Motors or does it also require a regular aerial input?

If the freeview box requires an internet connection to receive Motors, what if anything does the aerial do? I ask because we have next to no signal from a conventional aerial which is why we have Virgin media. If I buy the correct box/tv am I still stumped without an aerial signal?

So I still might be stuffed if I dont have a strong enough aerial signal?

With it being an internet stream, is there anyway of getting it through a ps3, xbox360 or sony br 5.1 system all of which can get iPlayer etc.?
Well if you can get it on a PS3 or Xbox 360 I haven't worked out how I'm afraid.

I understand that you need a device capable of receiving Freeview HD via an aerial and that can also be plugged into the internet.

It doesn't seem to have appeared on the basic virgin channel list. It looks like I'll have to pay for the xl package if I want to watch motors. Unfortunately we have such a poor aerial reception that freebies is impossible to get.
