Rally GB spectating.

Evening gents.

Looking for some advice from someone with experience of spectating a Rally GB event please.
I'd like to go this year, but on the website the spectator pass is listed as over £100.
Is the only way to watch the rallying, buying a pass and using their viewing points or is there scope to be able to see a decent amount of action without being ripped off?
