The Nissan "Calsonic" got me thinking, Are you lot anything like me, that when you see certain brands, logos or company names that have been used in conjunction with motorsport, it gives you a little frisson of excitement ? even though, in a lot of cases, you dont really know what said company did/does, or you don't actually like what they make, do or sell ? aside from the obvious car product related ones like Mobil, Ferodo or Shell

For example,

Martini evokes images of Porsches and Lancias, not ikky seventies dinner party drinks you would never buy, someone on here was talking about getting their car done in that livery, I get, most of the petrolhead world will but to a lot of people it just says you really like that specific drink, may as well get your 911 done with a Taboo or Lambrini scheme.

Jaagermeister, discovered what this was to my cost, best as a paint scheme on, or running racing BMW's on it rather than drinking it, its a kind of spicy alcoholic, version of Cuprinol.

Calsonic, sounds all Japanese and techy, not sure what they do but seen the logo on my Nissan, guessing car parts ?

Computervision, something to do with Computers, and er, vision ?

Saudi, just said Alan Jones and Williams to me, didnt realise it was an airline when I was a kid.

ANDREWS - Heat For Hire, guessing they rented space heaters or something, just smells of Manta's to me though.

Malboro, Fags, but mainly, James Hunt

Elf, Petrol and Small people, but mainly crazy six wheeled F1 cars

John Player Special - Black and Gold Capris and Lotus F1 in same regalia, allegedly was for fags as well

Agip, Petrol ? 70s F1

Tag Heuer - epitomises F1 and racing in general, plus they make watches I believe.

Alitalia, Racing Lancias of the seventies, found out much later it is an airline.

I always thought the old Brabham team had nice, clean, simple liveries in the Eccleston era...

I only found out a couple of years ago that Parmalat was an Italian dairy company.
Yeah, ditto, "Parmalat" sounds so cool, makes Yoghurts biggrin

The Williams sponsor you were thinking of was Saudia, the Saudi national airline.

Williams were able to turn a corner with Middle Eastern sponsorship in the late 1970's, and another major sponsor was Albilad, a major construction company.

The Bi Lad bit stood for Bin Laden.
"Bi Lad", didnt think that one through did he.

Jägermeister is beautiful, as are the liveries.
I do kind of like it really, but not the carnage that sometimes results from it, ever heard of the Clermont club in Atlanta (google it), a night I am not allowed to ever forget, for many reasons, was precipitated by Jaager biggrin

Another logo, dotn know what for, on the Rall y Sprint Rovber just posts in GG

"Kenning", remember that but not sure what they did, dealer group, leasing ?
