3.54:1 Powerlock Differential for a Tasmin
Discussion
Hi Ivor,
Please would you check the lsd to see what ratio it is and let me know. I have 4.01 LSD fitted now and I'm not and expert on diffs but I wonder if the crown wheel and pinion from the std (open) diff can be fitted to the LSD unit if it is the wrong ratio.
Many thanks
Dave

Thanks for the help and suggestions so far. The problem I have is that first gear is a total waste of time and even starting in second I have to feed the power in gently to avoid wheel spin. I think sprinting and hill climbing is different to racing in that, in general you only have one lap to get everything right. The car is fairly light at 1030kg and with the current gearing I'm hitting the rev limiter (6250)very quickly in gears 1 to 4, hence I have to short shift to make best use of the available torque with the 5 litre engine. At places like Harewood I have to change up/down 9 times where the other lads in the TVR Speed Championship only change gears 3 or 4 times with their longer gearing and larger wheels.I think the 3.54:1 combined with the 3 different 15" tyre diameters I have will be the best all round compromise for the different tracks I use.
So I'm still going to try and source the 3.54 LSD
