Spectacularly wet end to the 2014 season, will 2015 be the end of the V8 era?

Kicks off 27th Feb in Adelaide.

Red Bull domination or young upstarts upstaging the old timers?

Your thoughts gentlemen?

As the poster above said that duo (plus Larko) are just about the best commentary crew on TV, I see no bias, they're a fantastic, knowledgeable team that make F1 commentators like Coulthard, Edwards and Jordan seem incredibly dreary.

Isn't Marcos Ambrose making a return with Penske backing in 2015?
He sure is - started his comeback in the last race at Sydney 2 weeks ago.

Fiesty chap, didn't even make it through qualy without crashing:

Last weekends testing and shootout looked promising for the upcoming season, 8 different manufacturers in the top ten.

Crazy van Gisbergen 2nd quickest, McLaughlin 4th and the dominant Red Bulls of Lowndes and Whincup only managing 8th and 12th.

All kicks off in 10 days, first race with live UK broadcast on 28th.

Go Scotty !

Don't think the Red Bull's were running flat out even in the shootout. They'll be up at the front come Adelaide. Just behind the Volvo hopefully biggrin
You mean sandbagging?
I thought so too, quite slidey but a deliberate poke of the throttle at the wrong time can easily make them do that.

I've never really watched the V8 racing as i'm a fan of the F1 and have always assumed (due to my ignorance) that the driving is boring and the cars are slower so there won't be much action.

However, I have only heard good things about this sport so i am wanting to try and get into it as i love anything with an engine in it. Maybe 2015 is the year smile
Dan, if you don't want your F1 viewing ruined then you probably shouldn't watch V8 Supercars, the production and commentary are so much more polished and dynamic that it makes F1 seem aloof and dreary.

Enjoy.

Not to mention how much better the racing is!
Thanks Ben, he's right Dan, there's more action in every race than a whole season of F1.

And, if you think it's rednecks racing iron girder cars that any muppet could master ask Jaques Villeneuve (you know, the handy chap with a F1 drivers title and Indy car world title under his belt) he competed in some of the 2012 Supercar events and said it was one of the most difficult series he'd ever driven in - and he finished, erm, nowhere.

God, I can't wait.

Aaaaaaaand WE"RE OFF!

Clipsal 500, kerbtastic track with mostly zero run-off, big temps for the weekend, 37c air, 50c+ track and cabin temps, always great racing here, who can forget Scotty Mclaughlin 'giving it the jandal' last year.

Todd Kelly taking care over the kerbs in Friday's Practice 1:

Double pole for Whincup tomorrow. His pace looks very ominous for this weekend at least.
In a league of his own - very ominous - youve got to hand it to the fella.

Van Gissy looking good too.
Triple ominous.

1/3rd of a second in this series normally wouldn't separate the top ten, Whincup has that margin over his nearest rival and what's with his teammate being nearly a second slower in Q1?

McLaughlin was outstanding in the mighty Volvo.

But can anyone get near Whincup this weekend?

And how many will collect the wall at the terrifying turn 8?

Do you get UK coverage this weekend?

Bernie won't let us watch it here in case people discover how much more exciting it is than F1.

Anyone know if the races are on YouTube from this weekend? They appeared last year soon after.
Race 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQRm_LtoIuM

Race 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=khdxWEAmokw

There were 4 V8 races, race 3 and 4 not up yet.

Mr Eccelstone, take note, this is racing.

So Ambrose has stepped down as main driver for DJR Team Penske.

This seems to have more than a hint of toys put of the pram.
Appears to be amicable, if odd - behind the scenes might look different.

He didn't have a great weekend in Sydney but qualifying 8th for the big race in Adelaide and finishing 12th wasn't too shabby.

Shame.

Seems like such a long time ago we had a race weekend for the V8s. Seems ridiculous to have such big gaps between weekends at the start of the season.
I keep thinking the same thing and looking at the race calendar because I'm sure I've missed something.

5 days to go smile

It's Bathurst 1000 time

The cars are geared longer this year and should crack 300kph down Conrod straight
First ever all girl team new set to race
New lap record by Whincup in yesterdays practice

And Chaz Mostert destroys his car, a marshall's post, his left leg and wrist but still attempts a late anti roll bar adjustment, never give up eh......

So, as it looks like Motors TV are no longer showing V8 Supercars (and aren't on Sky anymore either) and I don't have BT Sport (nor do I really want to subscribe as I have no interest in football) I am looking for alternatives to watch the V8s this year. The Superview streaming service looks promising (and very reasonably priced) but there is very little information about it anywhere. Can anyone tell me if it supports Chromecast? And have they confirmed that all sessions will be available on demand as well as live?

Cheers in advance.

Dan
Sorry Dan, can't help, you've got 5 days to get it sorted.
