Make sure you there early as it was so many people missed race 1 last year it was that busy!
The first chicane gives great viewing over a huge amount of the cicircuit, and you normally get a big scree, so you don't miss any thing thing.
Gutted to miss it this year I think it's the first time since I started going in 2001.
Have a great day

If you get there early grab a spot on the last chicane because it gets difficult later on, usually some good overtakes here after the back straight. The complex (Turns 3/4/5) is also a good spot for action. If you go a bit further down past the side road you're not as close but a bit higher up so you can see a lot of the circuit from there.
A good thing about Thruxton is you can stand quite close to the track, get yourself on the inside of turn 2 to hear them go past

Parking at Thruxton is mainly on grass fields... some are sloping, so whether they're Elise-friendly is likely to depend on the weather between now and then. If it's wet I'd strongly recommend taking something else - I've watched X5s/MLs and the like stuck in the wet grass/mud there in the past.
The first chicane is cool to watch from as the cars look like they're coming right at you but it does get busy there on race day. We will probably be perched by the complex somewhere as there's more space and you can see three corners at once from memory. Be prepared for rain, tsunamis and wind. Lots of wind.
The Campbell/cob/seagrave complex is a good place, I sat there every year for years growing up, we seem to have moved to the grandstand at the final chicane now, I think in part the horrific rain a couple of years back really put us off a bit, it offers a bit of shelter if it does get wet!

The first race I ever attended on my own was at Thruxton back in the BTCC heyday - my Dad turned up at about 4pm having been queuing since breakfast time! I'd walked the last few miles to the track and arrived just in time for BTCC race 1. So yes, do make sure you get there early.I went on sunday to watch the BTCC and found a good place was at the end of the pit lane.
You get to see them come round the first corner (Allard) and go into the second. There was also a few offs and crashes around there which made good viewing.
I also went to club and cobb but found far to many people and the viewing wasn't actually that great.
If you want somewhere quiet, you can get round past Cobb onto a hilly part which was good too.
I got there around 8:15 which allowed us to walk round the paddock with only a few other people and had a chat with a few team mechanics and members too.
