Just wondering after all this time why there appears to be no dedicated tab/forum for UK drifting in the Motor Sport sections?

Your "argument" is so flawed. I did not mention racing at all - it is however a motor sport that requires high skill levels to compete at the top levels both in the UK and world wide! At least you don't have so much technology unlike F1 when the "races" could easily take place without drivers in the cars ( I just could not resist that one) ;-)

Yes, but I think it has to be a sport to get in to the Games (as per the argument about darts)!
....and Snow Boarding, Ice skating (dance and figure), Hot Dogging (be careful ;-)) - Ski Jumping - Equestrian Dressage etc.

Because old people don't get it, and by large PH always seems to be a tad out of touch.

It's judged, yes, but speed plays a big part in it, and considering the speed the top level are working at is higher than most probably hit on a track day, it is a massively skilled sport.

But really, there's a few dedicated drift forums, just use one of those. They also won't cry if you stretch your tyres a bit, smash arches out or drag the car along the ground.
I agree with the thrust of your point of view with the one exception.
It really pisses me off when you (the plural) state that "old people don't get it"!
I am well into my 6th decade and still some how manage to get into my TVR and drive it at a brisk pace (have to be careful as i am old) do track days visit and drive around the Nordschleife - jet ski - get out of bed - feed myself and other basic sanitary needs. Oh and am a big fan of Drifting and have even had lessons from one of the best original "Night Spirit" drifters in the UK.
OK so stop being bloody ageist - it's all about a state of mind not age.

That will be the considered opinion of an expert in motor sport and car control then!
Some how I don't think so.

If we had one 90% of the posts would be from people who don't like drifting and desperately need to tell everyone. The word chav would be used to the point where it loses all meaning.
Well nothing changed there then has it.
At least 90% on nearly all other threads are also full of krap!

So I assume you have a synergy with the word chav then jester

Hi - well fine - many on here have had years of experience of one or maybe two disciplines but that does not make them "experts" does it!
I myself rallied for over 6 years (many years ago - Mini Cooper S and Mexicos) at an amateur level.
In addition I have driven Formula 3 and Formula Ford cars. Numerous Track Days on various tracks including Oulton Park and the Nordschleife on both two and 4 wheels.
So maybe instead of being disrespectful to other skilled drivers "Because its a bit st and no-ones interested....." you should have said what you did in the later post!

"If driftings your bag then fine just not so keen myself but hey its a broad church and wouldn't do if we all liked the same thing."
That is a reasonable point of view.

Just in case you don' know Drifting/Twin Drifting is a real test of both car control/skill and focus just like any other motor sport.

Anyway I hope you continue to enjoy competing in your chosen motor sport and stay safe.

So true but don't they always. Well I have been active on here since Aug 2002 and nothing much has changed in that area ;-)

10+ years rallying, MSA licence holder, couple of BTRDA rounds and more than a few track days for the last two decades.

but yes.....you got me good and proper there pal.

If driftings your bag then fine just not so keen myself but hey its a broad church and wouldn't do if we all liked the same thing.
If it helps; I competed in the Eurodrift Championship and the British Drifting Championship, and I struggle to maintain any interest in watching other people drifting.

I love doing it, and I totally understand the skill involved at the top level (because it's significantly more skill than I have), but once I've seen a perfect run I don't need to see another.

I am also an MSA licence holder. It's not much of a qualification unless you say which licence you have. Mine isn't worth mentioning.

My son was a major competitor too. I get what you are saying - but when they twin it's real good to watch from outside - inside does not give you the feel for what is happening.
Mind you I have found BTCC and F1 real bloody boring too. The best motor sport to watch is definitely Motor bikes - be it BSB or WSB - now those guys do compete at the most intense level and skill.
