With the F1 season just around the corner and teams testing to the max, I was just wondering what peoples thoughts for the forth-coming season are?
Personly I feel Ferrari will tie up the constructors fairly easily this season, although they will be matched for pace by McLaren, BMW and Honda I feel they will have the superior reliability and also have the strongest driver line up.

I feel Raikkonen will take the Driver's followed by Alonso and Massa. Fingers crossed for Button this season, but alot will depend on the reliability of the Honda.

Look out for BMW this season. A fast car that should be in the points, as long as the car complettes the distance that is. Also watch out for Spyker, the dutch company will be the suprise package having worked hard to develope the car prior to this season. With the introduction of Ferrari engines they will fare much better than last season's attempt under the Midland Racing brand.
Place Bets Now!!!!!

I think Ferrari will perhaps have the fastest race car, but many things have changed in the pit lane. The Ross Brawn/ Schumacher package is no longer there to produce those stunning strategies, not to mention Ferrari having to adapt to supporting two drivers rather than a one two as they're used to.

Not to mention Nigel Stepney leaving the pit lane, too.

If they have reliability and consistancy this year, Mclaren should be a good bet for the title.

A good point about Ross Brawn and stratigies but I do feel that reliability will be a key factor in this seasons title race.
still, all things aside, a good season in store.

Im considering putting a bet on Massa for the drivers title. Only problem is I really want Kimi to win and I've never supported Ferrari before - but theres a first for everything.

I agree, I dont usualy go for the prancing horse but I enjoyed watching Massa last year and would like to see him finish strongly this year. I'm just worried that Kimi will get preference.
Still on to Oz!!!!

Why is it that people who don't like F1 feel compelled to post on F1 related threads about how much it bores them?

If it bores you, don't waste your time watching it, and more importantly don't waste even more of your time wittering on about it in chat rooms!!

I never said i didn't like it. Those that have felt compelled to reply to my (shock, horror) negative post about F1 have assumed that I don't. I asked the question whether anyone actually cared, not once did I state that I didn't.

I always watch the first couple of races during the season to see what it's going to be like, then make a decisn as to whether to watch any more. I watched a total of about 6 GP last season, most of those I scanned over rather than watched from start to finish. Moto GP on the other hand I watched all of them when I could, from start to finish.

And why should I stop writing about something even if I don't feel compelled to watch it religiously? Like I've said, it's not that I'm not interested in it? Or do the 'F1 is the be all and end all police' feel that I shouldn't?
Ooooh Handbags, lol. Your right! F1 is'nt the be end and end all of motorsport, but its a huge part of the summer racing calender. Of which many millions of people do care about. Personly my priority will be ALMS and FIA GT, with a bit of BTCC thrown in for good measure. But I will be monitoring F1 closely as this is the first season in many a year that the championship is wide open, with several teams and drivers having a good chance of glory.

Well thoughts are what I asked for and thoughts is certainly what I've got, lol. I certainly wasn't expecting such vocal opinions. Still back to the point in hand, anyone else out there tingling with antisipation of the new season or are you just sick of how the sport has become? Agreed previous years have been a little predictable and a touch on the boring side, but maybe, just maybe this season may be a little diferent.
On the plus side for those who care little about F1. The 12hrs of Sebring runs for the 55th time on the same weekend as the first F1 race of the season!!!!
Now that will be worth keepin an eye on!

Alonso is going to confirm himself as a class act, and Kimi hopefully will make Massa look silly.

Think Massa will give Kimi something to think about.

Very impressed with him last year.
i'll second that!

So are Williams and Spyker really that worried by Torro Rosso and Super Aguri to protest this year. My how the mighty have fallen, well in the case of Wiliams anyway, lol
I'm sure in seasons gone by they're main concern was the pace of Ferrari and McLaren. But I could be wrong, lol.
