Ginetta G50 @ 2008 Zolder 24h
Discussion
Last weekend 3 Ginetta G50's participated in the 2008 Zolder 24h, a race that is part of the Belgian GT Championship.
Unfortunately none of them reached the finish line, all suffering from the same problem; a cooling problem at the rear axle.
On two others a part of the rear axle melted away, on this #350 (driven by Brith drivers Lawrence Tomlinson, Richard Dean, Danny Watts & Nigel Moore) there was a short but heavy fire caused by the same problem. I was able to take a few pics of the car that caught fire while running at full speed.
Pics of the 3 cars while they were still running...

Thanks for the info Lawrence, I based myself on the reports I've read after the race; proves they can't always be trusted. Just checked your profile, so you're actually 'the' Lawrence Tomlinson... a pleasure to meet you here!
It was definately one of the nicer cars on the track, I was a bit disappointed when it felt out so dramatically... luckily I was able to take some nice pics during the practice and qualifying sessions on Wednesday and Thursday. Just too bad I couldn't get close enough to the cars to take some detailed pics, pitlane appeared to be always closed except for Wednesday morning.
