Bristol to Falmouth - what's the fun way?

Heading to Falmouth from Bristol in a few weeks, and am tempted to take the motorbike down if the weather's good. Don't want to spend the whole journey on M'way/DC so wondering if there's a more fun alternative (without taking all day).

Was thinking of tolerating the M5 to Exeter, then cutting across Dartmoor instead of the A30, but having little knowledge of Cornwall I'm open to better ideas.
