Hello PH'ers,

after some considerable time spent lurking I thought it's time to step out of the shadows with this thread.

I'll be in Wales in June for a mate's wedding and wanted to use the opportunity to drive some of the famous roads (which ones exactly remains tbd at the moment) that have been discussed on the forum.

My current garage does not offer anything with which that could be remotely fun I guess.

Therefore I thought I go for a rental car. Ideally that should not be a Vauxhall Corsa but sth nice.
I am not talking 200 quid/day Ferraris or Astons but sth affordable, maybe along the lines of a GT86 or current gen MX-5.

Anyone got any suggestions where to rent?

Thanks in advance gents clap

Hi. Did you try car hire comparison websites such as travelsupermaket?
Hey Raoul,

yeah I checked kayak.co.uk and travelsupermarket.com

Best stuff I could find was an Audi TT and the price was rather steep, too. Avis Prestige has some nice cars, but then again it's 4 days minimum rental period and an F Type comes at 1200 quid-ish.

Anyone maybe know of a place that rents out Mk2 or Mk3 Elises?

Cheers

I picked up a leaflet from the Great Orme in Llandudno which advertised a Caterham 7 for rental at reasonable rates, that should be fun for some twisty lanes.
Thanks for the info Steve. Couldn't find that one yet, though.

Caterham UK rentals seem decent enough at 450 quid for Friday to Monday.

Since when was 450 considered reasonable for three days rental.

Plus you would be unable to unleash the power incase you binned it in a ditch .
Probably a matter of perspective when comparing to the 300 a day quote I got at Avis for a Jag. But agree with you there, 150 a day is steep.
