We are off to Switzerland & Austria sometime in September, not sure on date but it will be over 14 days. Cars will be our Mk2 focus RS & our friends in the their 911. 1st day we intend to just get ourselves down to Luzerne, we are not to worried how long this takes as once we are there we can then relax for a couple of days enjoying the scenery and local bars & resturaunts :-) from Luzerne we intend to head to Davos then onto Innsbruck, then head to lake Konstanz. From lake Konstanz start to make our way back home via the Black Forrest.
We hope to get together next week so we can start to build in places of interest, hotels & such like, just thought I'd share this plan with PH as I know it's a wealth of knowledge on here. We are welcome to any advise, or recommendation of hotels & route advise, we will of course be heading of to do some of the passes :-) back in 2008 we did the Stelio pass & the St bernardino pass, we enjoyed the later far better than the Stelio as that was so busy.
I m looking forward to PHs advise

Best regards
Mark

Ps, I will let you know the progress we make over next weekend.

Fantastic, just the sort of info I was hoping for & yes please to any further ideas you may come across on your trip, which by the way sounds awesome.

Forest only has one R in it, and you might want to learn the difference
between advise and advice.

Generation Innit in action, I suspect.
Thank you for your reply, have to add that it made my day when you quote me as the youth of today lol, unfortunately I'm long past that stage. I have to apologise for my poor spelling and grammar, It was never my strong point, even all those years ago when I was back in the Generation Innit :-)
Thanks for the info on Luzern, I will bear this in mind, but to be honest we are not on any type of budget.

Cheers

Thank you HalylingJag that's very helpful :-) We should finalise a route this weekend, hopefully once we get that sorted we will be able to choose hotels along the route and get them pre booked on line, think we best go steady on the red wine, God only knows what we will, end up staying in lol.

Cheers

Ok so we had a very successful weekend organising our euro tripsmile ferry booked & all hotels booked cool
Our friends will travel down from North Yorkshire to Our house in kent a couple of days before we set off, this will give them a nice break before we set off on Monday 19th September. We have opted for an early ferry crossing, this gives us time for breakfast on board smile Soon as we disembark the ferry we will head straight down to Reims for a photo or two at the old grand prix pits cool + a bite to eatsmile From Reims we head down to Lucerne, well the hotel is in Horw Bay on lake Lucerne, we have booked 3 nights at this beautiful location, our rooms have a lake view cool From Lucerne we will be heading over to Austria via a pass or 2 coolcoolwe have booked into a guest house in Navis, this is just south of Insbruck. We will be staying here for 5 nights, this gives us plenty of time to go find more fantastic driving roads, also we will make a visit to Salzburg. From Navis we head back into the Black Forest via lake Konstanz, the hotel we have booked is on Windgfallweiher lake in Feldberg, luckily for us it's on the B500 coolsmile staying here for 2 nights. We then head up to Bernkastel Klaus on the the Mosel river, we came across this place last year whilst we were in the area for the ADAC WRC Rally but did not have much time to appreciate it, we have booked 2 nights here so should be able to enjoy it's quaint character smile From here we head back up to the ferry, should be around 4 to 5 hrs. The round trip is 1700 miles, this will increase considerably once we head off onto the passes and other interesting routes we can find once there coolsmile
Seems a long way off but I'm sure it will come round pretty quick, really excited is an understatement especially as I'll be looking at a 911 ar$e most of the way biggrin

Been a long time coming but finaly its time for some fun 👍😎😀 on the 6am ferry tomorrow morning. Will be splitting the journey to Lucerne into 3 stints, 1st stop will be reims, fancy a few pics parked alongside the old Reims GP circuit pits 👍 next stop will be decided by the RS and when it's thirsty for some V Power 😀 soon as I get some spare time I'll do a write up and a few pics 👍

Cheers
