Pyrenees/Andorra - Any 'must do' roads?
Discussion
Sorry for the lack of update! We stayed in a village towards Carcassonne, which meant that an action-packed week left us with no day to properly explore the Pyrenees and Andorra. A shame, but it was 30-35deg, and there's only so much driving one wants to do in that weather.
On the other hand, we visited Château de Peyrepertuse (a castle on top of a mountain - incredible views), which allowed us to at least explore the Western part of the Pyrenees. We chose a route that saw us join the D14 (South/Eastbound) from the D613 just after a village called Couiza.
A fantastic drive - lovely tarmac, a mix of sweeping corners and tight ascending/descending hairpins, fantastic views from the higher sections over vineyards and little villages.
Some sections were a bit narrow to make fast progress safely, but the majority was well-sighted and wide enough to push on. Here's a good representation of some of the better bits: http://goo.gl/maps/u5U6AojwTHs
Recommended for anyone staying in the area.
