Good roads around the peak district

Spending Christmas this year in a hotel couple of miles from Ladybower.... did a diving job there years ago but never got to know the area... so, planning on some walks but are there some 'must drive' roads anyone can recommend?

Thanks fellas, leaving about half eight this morning so should get there around midday traffic and weather permitting
