As some people or have seen online i started to build a twin engine corsa around 4-5 years ago. After the first push over 12 months the car was put to one side while i sorced all the parts for both engines/shell etc aswell starting up my own business/garage. So now 4-5 year on alot of money and parts later, i finally had more time on my hands.
So i decided to put aside at least an hour per night before i lock up to work on the car.
Since i started around 2 months ago things have moved on really fast, i find myself getting my enjoyment from working on the car and excited about doing the next step each night.
So i took the car outside gave her a wipe down an took some photos so people can see what i have been upto and see that the car is getting done. Do not want to put a date on when it will be up and running but hope i am not far off for PVShow 2012.
Small spec – Full Forged Engines with Garrett GT3076 Turbo’s, F28 6 speed transmissions with Quafie Diff’s est 450-500bhp per engine
Will Write a full spec up when I get time.

Full Build photos can be found here
http://www.corsasport.co.uk/board/garage.php?actio...
I will update this thread every few month but if you want to follow every nut and bolt part then i will be doing updated on Facebook here

I started building the car because i wanting to keep up with high powered cars in my little corsa haha
It will be fully road legal and not built just for one reason. The main use for the car is to on a weekend go out of a drive and have some fun. Even if it covers the 1/4mile in under 10 seconds it will be classed as a "slow drag car" i want a really fast road car.
An easiest and cheapest way to double you power and traction? weld an engine in the back, makes is 4WD and doubles your power. Mine just got alittle out of control.
Some of it is because i saw some twin engine car years ago and i had the same reaction as you people are now. It gets your mind thinking about how fast it could be? will it handle? etc etc
I also liked the fact i can enter some events and run in all classes - FWD, RWD and 4WD

I do not care weather its not as fast as i am expecting, i am just looking forward to the drama of being sat in the drivers seat with a massive turbo 2 foot from my head glowing red as i try to brake the land speed record haha

I want to just have a car i get excited about taking out for a spin biggrin

From what i have seen and read there is no real problems in running both engines on the road. Aslong as the car passes an MOT.
As said above Dubsport (Ian Birch) built loads of Twin engine cars which where used on the road and are still used today (DVLA Check B19 DUB Twin engine Mk4 Golf) aswell as the twin engine westfields, a few renault 5's and there is a bloke on here who has a C2 with 2 x V6 engines (Had a fire and rebuilt it).

Thanks for all the nice comments.

Will add a few more bits which people are bringing up. I have been building vauxhall's for years as some people have said, an my garage is a specialist vauxhall garage in the northwest but my real passion now is fabrication/welding. Really enjoy locking myself in my garage on a sunday when noones around and mock up a tubular manifold or exhaust system. As some people have said i have built a few vauxhalls for both myself and customers.
Few pics below,

the Black 3lt V6 with Nitorus (i still own and plan to give my son.)

People have said they wish they could do something like that.
Well to give people an idea and to try and motivate people to get up and do something i will tell you alittle about my past history.

I started Window Cleaning when i was 16 (I am 31 now) and still do it today 4 mornings a week.
In late 2002 i paid someone to change my brake pads in my car as i did not know what i was doing.
Always had a interest in performance cars etc but was never happy paying people to do a job as they would never do it how i wanted so decided to have ago.
Over the next 6-7 years i went to night school to learn welding and metal fabrication, aswell as car bodywork/painting.
Over this time i got a small lockup with some friends and learned myself cars mechanics doing my own conversion on cars, reading, watching people etc.
2 years ago I opened my own garge and qualified as a level 3 mechanic/MOT tester etc I worked 12-13 hours aday (both window cleaning and mechanicing).
Now i have employed some staff, i can now take time going back to my passion.

So going from 2002 when i could not do a thing on cars to 2011 to building a twin engine near 1000bhp Corsa.

People just need to follow there passion more.....

If anyone is in the Oldham, Manchester area feel free to contact me and pop in, i still work most nights till 9pm as after 6pm my garage turns into like a big boys youth club where there are a group of petrol heads who pop in my garage at night to lend a hand, have a chat etc before going home haha

Massive update here with loads of pics, from other threads on other sites.
Start by the ultimate lock up, forget your local pub. As said before my mate owns a lazar profile place so here the after hours lock in, help your self and make what you want biggrin

Lazar cutting machine

CNC Bender

Overveiw of the toyshop

So made up my fuel tank aswell as lazar cut aload of other bits i needed for parts i am making (see below)

Oil Catch tanks (still needed to weld on intake pipes)

Header tanks (1 x engine water 2 x chargecooler may need one more engine water depending on how i run the rad and system)

Some parts which have arrived, Kevlar arch liners, Quafie gearknob, Solid mounts and battery and carbon kit to make some items.

Window vent cut and ready to fit

Front and rear exhaust all finshed (needs welding and wastegates) only having a single tail pipe out the rear.

Made a 100% carbon strut brace and heater cover.

Also one night over using another mate’s work to CNC all my gear linkage setup (based around the VW motorsport shifter)

Loads of items off to the powder coaters (above water tanks etc) so will update when back and fitted in place.

Playing with some carbon, made a replacement removable slam panel.
Come out really well still some work to do on it to make 100% smooth but as my first go really pleased, going to make my door cards now.

Fitted up header tank and oil catch tank (you can not see on the bad photo) an placed carbon panel on there to see weather i like the look.

got the window vent all fitted up aswell (outer metal plate sent away to be powder coated)

had a go of making replacment carbon panels etc.
So here my slam panel all complete, fits perfect and looks stunning. I am really very pleased with it.

Had a little trip down memory lane today, my mrs had me throw out my car mag collection from when i was 12 up until today frown
I had to sort threw them all, keep a few i wanted for old times but throw the rest.
I came across which Really made me smile and answered alot of questions.
Here is where my fastination for Twin Engine Cars began June 1997 I would of been 16 when i bought this mag. What made me smile was look closely at the photo I wrote on the reg at 16 - adam's car hands off. hooked ever since

I cut out my slam panel and fitted up my carbon replacment which fits perfect.
really chuffed with how it has come out.

Also fitted the Fuel cap in the rear window, just waiting on a few bits so i can install the tank and filler neck

Started making the bottom pulleys tonight, making bottem pulleys and alternator pulleys.
I bought 2 as a sample, reason for making it i am running a OPC steel crank which has a differant bolt fitment than standard XE/LET.
My Weapon this evening was a Harrison M250 nice "school" Lathe.

Finished the Bottom Pulleys and made the Alternator Pulleys.
Just need to cut the V section into the Alt ones.
Going to think about doing a group buy and making a few sets.

Cheers

I have thought about a fire wall but really do not want to run one, i understand the risk but there is risk to crossing the road etc.
The car is going to be a fun car which at most will do say 30miles at one given time.
PLUS and the main point for not wanting one is imagian the drama, smell, noise etc of having a 500bhp engine right next to you while you are trying to brake the land speed record ?
If you go threw life thinking "but what if" then cars like this would never be built.

Video of Dubsports Twin Engine Golf with no firewall fitted, now if you would not like to be sat in that passenger seat for the overall experience then in my eyes your not a petrol head.

Small Update.
Gear leaver turret has come so welded that all up and sat the gear leaver mech ontop. Still need to add some bits for the cables to mount to but had to have a look how it sits inside the car.
Also aload of powder coating came back so back so gave the engine bay a wipe down put them back on to see how they look.
Going to send off the inlet and chargecoolers to get polished.
Next jobs are work on the gear cables, make a lourve tool so I can vent the bonnet and then give is a mass clean off ready for PVShow ‘12

Also been teaching my lad not to buy but to modify (be wanted to get a new bike as this one was look old and out of “fashion”) before anyone says i know the front forks are wrong way around just plonked it all together so he could see how it would look at update his progress thread like me lol

Thanks
