Update page 3!!

Nothing massively special but they all serve a purpose!

Daily Driver = C2 VTR Sensodrive

Weekend Car = JDM S2000 (Grand Prix white)

Family wagon = Kia Soul Tempest (all the toys 18's, reverse camera, Uprated stereo etc...)

Yeah one of the main reasons we got the kia, a good deal, 7 year warranty (although were probably just keeping it for 4, it should help the re sale with 3 years warranty still left) and it's more unusual than the standard Picasso, c max etc....

Thanks Guys,

The C2 was originally the MRS daily before our child came along, Had it since 2005 nothing has gone wrong with it (touch wood) up to now.

Plus points are pretty reasonable economy (Im getting 40.3 atm mainly stop start) but can get 47+ on a run

Insurance is also very cheap as there only grp 7

To Drive, i'd probably look at getting the GT manual version unless your looking for an auto as the sensodrive isnt the smoothest.

If you wan to know anything more specific just fire away smile

If i was looking now i'd be tempted by the VTS DIEsel tbh although think there prices are still considerably more?

Decent little car tho!

I had a Track spec Saxo VTS before the S2000 came along which has the "basic" same engine as the C2 smile

You sure? The VTS C2 are only grp8 which is 1 more than a vtr? The diesel VTS is even lower than the VTR iirc?

Right haven't updated this in a while!

The s2000 was sold 2 months ago due to the arrival of daughter number two and it not really being used at all! Sold on pistonheads in just 12hrs!

A kind of replacement arrives tomorrow in the form of an R53 cooper s with works upgrades so 215bhp pics to follow

The c2 is still here but it's days are numbered now the mini is here

The kia is safe for now but have now convinced the wife a juke nismo is the way to go! Test drive coming soon smile

Anyone have experience of living with a nismo?

A couple of pics of the new Cooper s (my number plate is now on but not in these pics)

Current spec

Engine / Exhaust:
190whp (215BHP) Dynod at 1320 Mini 30th June
5th Gen Teflon Charger with 17% pulley – 29k on this unit and confirmed as a very clean item by 1320 during fitting.
550CC injectors
Airtec TMIC – Fitted at 93k so still like new
Orranje CAI – Fitted at 93k so again like new
Scorpion Cat Back – Fitted at 77k and still cleans up like new, a lovely sound.

Chassis:
Bilstein B14 Coilovers fitted at around 88k so these have 8k miles under them.
Polybushed rear subframe bushes - sorting a big problem found on many minis which often ruins the handling.

Wheels / Tyres:
R98 webspokes will be sold with the car with good ContiSport 5 tyres.

Brakes:
Motul RBF 660 Fluid
EBC Turbo groove discs and Mintex 1144 pads on the front OEM discs and EBC red stuff pads on the back.

Interior:
JCW Sparco cloth seats – these are great when pushing on.
JCW Carbon dash – this is in mint condition and lifts the interior
LG Trimming Suede gearstick and handbrake gaiter – dark charcoal with a blue stitch

Exterior:
Aero grill fitted by 1320 – lower grill can still be removed and freely rather than bonded in.
CC’d headlight rings
Debadged rear.

Plans are for some new wheels and poss a brake upgrade

The meg is a friends R26r so not mine frown

I think i remember you Matt (well by forum name anyway)

Funnily enough i've just had my second daughter arrive which was one of the reasons the S2000 went, i just failed to buy a more family friendly car lol

Maybe the C2 will make way for something bigger and more economic but who knows!

Another update

True to form i went and had the Kia serviced and ended up walking out with a new one! The top of the range Maxx to be exact only just released and was a demonstrator with 2k miles on it so quite a bit off list price smile

I know its not very PH but it does exactly what we need for the family duties and imo stands out a bit more from the focus / golf / astra crowd and has pretty much 7 years left of warranty (although im sure it will be moved on by then)

Anyway a couple of pics

and another of the mini which is going well so far

Right a timely update!

The Kia is still performing very well as the family wagon and has recently been to Holland and Disneyland Paris loaded up but handled everything very well

This is on the Belgium border if i remember rightly

The Mini is still with me and apart from a new Radiator this month has been reliable.

A couple of pictures from Brandshatch back in October i think

The biggest change is the recent addition of this. A Renaultsport Clio 197 F1 Team. As you can see its in Liquid yellow and has the Recaros and a Trophy rear spoiler not the usual cup one. Apart from that its completely standard! Good service history inc belts etc being done. I made a cheeky offer and they accepted! So now i have two hot hatches. Not sure if they will both stay long term but who knows!

A couple of pictures anyways

Forgot to mention one fault that needs fixing is the Clio heater blower only works on speed 1 and 3.
Pretty certain it's the common burnt resister / loom but can you buy these bits anywhere to do a straight replacement?
Anyone know or help?

Mini has just last week had a rear brake overhaul with some pagid discs and pads, new calliper as one was sticking and a new handbrake cable! All this meant it sailed through the mot so might well be up for sale in the next month or so

Clio - had the wheels re cmfurbed black with matching centre caps

Also fixed the heater part cost £23 and got my local garage to do the electric totalling £48 so not too bad 😀

Hi only just seen the reply on this and the answer is no I don't know I did try tracking the old ref but not a lot came up. I would love to actually buy it back if I could!

In other news I have a new addition in the form of a liquid yellow megane F1 to sit alongside the Clio!

Totally standard with only 69k on the clock and very mint!

So the drive is very erm.... yellow!

The Kia is still with us also and going well with nothing much to report

Anyway some pics of the megane

Cheers patch the Saxo was defo on another level back then but also taught me a very important lesson in spending lots of money on a car never to get it back! Although I do forget that on occasions!

The wife has the Kia for family duties and I've tried to cut down to just one car but you know what it's like! everything seems to over lap somewhat but come the summer time the Clio will prob get moved on and something else take its place

They are both very similar cars but the meg seems more "grown" up if that makes sense and is a bit bigger

Well the Clio has gone! About 5 weeks now actually and a replacement is coming next week in the shape of a small fiat panda! The 100hp to be exact.

I've always wanted to try one for some strange reason so I'm Hoping it will obviously be a little more economical but still a bit of fun on the commute to work which is mainly twisty B roads 😁

I'll post some pics up once it's arrived

Only other update is the Meg now sounds a bit better with a K tec 3inch system fitted

Well I HAVE A PANDA! Didn't think I'd ever need or want one but now it's here I love it! Ok it's never going to be the fastest car in the world but on my 20 mile commute to work in the early or late hours across B roads I completely see why it always got such good reviews.

The car is a 2007 car and had belts etc done 2 months ago as well as a major service, has had quite a lot of money thrown at it with wheels being re furbed the colour of the car, custom exhaust and filter and an uprated stereo double din touch screen (including sub under passenger seat)

Has a couple of little things that need sorting as the rear wiper is broken and one of the side indicators needs replacing oh and a small car park sent on the drivers side but nothing major

Plan is to keep this as the daily for a little while and at some point sell the meg and buy something more "weekend friendly"

Anyway a pic or two
