Hello never posted before not sure if it will even work but here goes,
bought this 2004 c2
then bought this 1996 Evo 4 with evo8 engine in it
then stripped the Evo and chopped it about abit
I had to cut 7 inch out of wheel base to match the C2 length
All the work has been done on a jig to hopefully keep it square also made the jig slotted so i could move it the 7inch i needed
Floor pan back together (dont panic)
Time to sort the c2
Few cutting discs later i just cut round what i wanted and binned the rest
Then boom dropped the top on bottom
See simple but was sick of welding
Then added a cage
Please bear in mind this is done maianly by my self with friends lending a hand with limited tools and money, i started the build middle of january 2012 thanks for looking Will

The evo was tatty it was just ideal for this job it was bought to cut up even tho it had 12months mot and 6 months tax it had a quick ride up the road couple of laps of the fields then it cut up,The c2 was bought for 300 quid soo had to have it for that price you are working with rust free shells
Yeah its just all evo running gear with the c2 shell just thought it would be a bit off fun

Thanks for all the kind replys yes it is a silly project but im now well aware you only live once soo thought i best get on with it, it went together fairly well i just measured up the widths of the cars and cut to suit, going to have it as a road\track car, inside the car i was going to keep the standard evo recaro seats as they just bolt to the floor but they are too heavy for liking,im keepin the evo dash and a few bits of trim round the handbrake and gear stick and maybe carpet where your feet go
Got some 4pot brembos off evo5 but they were too big for the other rims but had these off my other evo they are just a different offset to clear the claiper,
Got the exhaust fabricated up using the exhaust off the evo cut down and a couple of bends welding in, and made a rolled tip for it out of some round bar welded round
I went for loud side of things as gettin a back box in there was tight
so thats where im at with the car now,the front bumper will have the grills back not the holes you see there
Thanks for looking Will

wow didnt think this would be this popular, i had seen the c2v12 build thread couple of months ago but i was already half way thru this, i think they are very different cars as i think the other one is space framed and mine is a solid shell,
not sure on the power the evo came with a print out for 316bhp at the wheels but you never know when you buy a car whats really going on with it soo when it done will have the map checked on it,im hoping for more power next year thought i would sort the shell this year,
as for the time scale iv been on with it just over 6 months and as already mentioned someone said must be over 200hrs in it but i honestly dont know,
i had cancer last year soo i personally think im working slowly on it just doing bits and bobs as i go and when i feel like it just about everything on the car has had to be made to fit, when i look back at the pictures its come along way
thanks Will

Bit of an update on the car,
Got the fuel filler neck made and fitted bit off a job to do as the evo filler was on drivers side and the c2 is on the passengers side so had to snake it across the car,i will fill the hole thru the floor with a plate in 2 halfs shaped round the filler pipe
Still retains the evo one way valve in the tank neck in event of rollover and all the breathers,
Got some arch extentions as need something to cover the wheels but not sure on them yet might not use them yet
Thanks Will

Hello,
Im i know this car is cut and shut but its been done properly by myself, the cut across the floor was done over an existing joint which had been overlapped by an inch and spot welded by factory so all did was cut out the length i needed and re-overlapped the joint by an inch and mig weld it both sides arcoss the floor so its better now than it was, where i did a striaght butt joint on the inner sills i put a plate across with swag lines in to stiffin it up, i have lots of experince welding and fabricating, the prop shaft has already been shorten and remade a friend did the machining work on it for me and i welded it up,
Thanks for looking Will

The c2 had been cat D a few years ago then repaired but then the auto gearbox broke, which was hardly worth repairing,it was owned by a friend and a local garage offered them £300 for it soo the friend offered it to me for the same price,i did wonder what i was going to do with it first thought was type R engine but fwd, then thought engine in the boot, but i had a nice evo 5 as a weekend car and thought this would go well if it was a bit lighter soo hatched a plan got the tape measure out bought another evo the white one in the start of the thread and got cutting
thanks will

This is the best thing that could of happened to the evo the paint work was tatty and the 4s arnt the best looking,it would of cost more to properly restore it than it has to do what iv done and this will be faster ,as mentioned earlyer on the thread it has a evo8 engine in it before i bought the car as the evo4 engines had problems so no worries there,
Close up of the cage paint he has done a good job on it for me
