Here I go again.... Citroen XM luxo-barge content
Discussion
Some of you might remember my 405 that turned out to be little more than a pile of French rust. Since that didn't work out, I have been hunting for something more sensible. I have now found it.
I have the cash out ready
My train ticket is booked for 7am tomorrow from Southampton central and I'm going to....Ipswich! I shall document my journey for you all tomorrow and you can all enjoy my Saturday jaunt. It will involve an early alarm, several trains, an underground and a several cars.
Wish me luck.

I remember reading that one a few weeks ago - I know it turned out bad! What a shame!
What did you do to shift it? Break it up and sell off the non-rusty parts or scrap as a whole?
I sold it whole, for £100 more than I paid for the car, which covered half the transport costs. I lost out around £100 in the end. What did you do to shift it? Break it up and sell off the non-rusty parts or scrap as a whole?

Excellent, another adventure! i take it you will be driving this one home rather then wussing out and having it shipped?
Yes, driving it home. It has tax and MOT, which is a bonus!TheLordJohn said:
so the 405 was a bit TOO far gone...?
Yes, here is the link http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...Well here is what my epic trip was for. A series one XM, registered '93. Its a 2.0 petrol turbo with 150bhp, and an auto box. It has only 79700 miles on the clock, and quite a bit of history. It was owned by an XM club member before being sold to a random punter a few months ago. He only purchased it as it was local, and he wanted something big and cheap, but decided it was to good to ruin.
It was very good on the way home, covering nearly 200 miles without missing a beat. This was on less than £50 of fuel, so approx 30mpg. The ride is lovely and smooth, however the front wheels need balancing as there is quite a lot of shaking at 65-70mph.
It has electric everything, including an electric arm rest. I never released was essential until today
Very chuffed with it currently. It needs a good clean inside and out, wheels balancing, and thats about it for now I think. Its taxed till Nov, as well as MOT'd till Nov.
