Hi all,

Been a member of the forum for a while so I thought it was time I'd start making a few posts and a thread of my recent car.

Took delivery of the car end of May, treated myself to a 21st birthday present.

Spec of the car:

. Recaro seats
. Cup pack; stiffer/ lower suspension, quicker steering rack, red brembos and anthracite wheels
. Push start engine button
. Keyless entry
. Air con
. Climate control
. Cruise control
. Speed limiter
. Red line rev counter beep warning

0-60 in 6.5
Top speed 141 mph

I decided for the car as its a perfect daily driver with all the luxuries and also had the kit to be able to go for spirited driving or trackdays in standard form.

Anyway, some pictures of the car:

The car definitely has met every expectation and exelled in them, I can see why the car wins best hot hatch,
The handling is mind blowing for a fwd hot hatch, the brakes are a perfect compliment and give plenty of trust in them,
And straight line speed is plentiful for what is needed.

Already took it to Le Mans for the classics show, planning on the nurburgring this time next year, just can not seem to get myself out of the car, it's so rewarding to drive.

No major plans for the car as it needs for nothing. All I have done is bought a K&n replacement panel filter to appreciate the 7,700 rpm n/a sound and plans for a subtle exhaust upgrade. Time will tell

Thanks for reading

Comments and suggestions welcome

Updates soon enough

Thanks for the comments smile

It's just shy off 6K, I managed to do 2K in France.

I'm not fussed on the speedlines, look like the laguna wheels and they're heavier, so I just kept the standard cup pack wheels.

It is loosening up the more I'm doing it in, looking forward to getting in k&n panel in.

I had a 172 before this, and the 200 is miles ahead in every aspect apart from straight line speed, due to it being heavier. Seats are lovely too. I'm happy

Every morning I have the same thing, I just leave it idle to warm up and wait until it stops doing it.
It only lasts around a minute or two

James, if you have a clean license you'll be surprised how cheap the 200 is on insurance.
Half of what a 197 is for some reason.

I don't mind the dash, coming from a 172 it's an upgrade, so it suits me fine smile

Yeah, that's right. I'm paying £710 fully comp

They're far from slower on track, quite the opposite if your talking standard vs standard.

I'm already a member of cliosport.net, been on there for 2-3 years from when I had my 172

Ahhh, I wasn't aware of that, was going to use the 5th gear one to back me up! Nevemind, blinking cheats.

I'm planning on taking a trip to the nurburgring this time next year, so I'm looking forward to organising that with a few mates.

It's the cup model that has the shocking hard plastic dash and the basic dials on it,

This has the 'soft touch' dash and the nicer centre console.

It's a plain dash, but it had everything it needs to. Nothing worse than a busy dash IMO

Cheers smile

Can't seem to break into the 40mpg area, 38 is the best I can achieve

Panel filter should be here tomorrow too, little weekend fiddle and see the noise smile

Quite looking forward.

Coming back from Le Mans, I had the pleasure of boarding the ferry with these two beasts:

Don't think so,

I still doubt a standard 182 would be quicker, 200 can carry a lot more speed through a bend and had better brakes.

Even if a 182 is slightly quicker down a straight, it's not going to pull much of a gap

There was a thread the other day on this, that the last of the 200's may hold their value quite well, being the last 3 door Renaultsport, your average joe isn't going to want a 5 door Clio. The 3 door Focus St is holding value well because more people are buying them as they don't want 5 doors.

Is it 100% confirmed that it will only be a 5 door?
Yes, unfortunately. 5 doors only, was released at a motor show.
1.6 turbo and a dsg style auto gearbox.
No more a driver focused car.

Don't fancy drilling the 200's air box tbf, Its a new car and just don't want to start cutting things up on a new car.

It'll give a bit more grunt noise, I'll be happy.

I done my fair share to my old 172, so I shouldn't feel the need to do anything to this, nothing drastic anyway.

Just to show you all my previous cars:

To say I like I clean car is a bit of an understatement smile

My 1st car, vauxhall corsa 1.6 sport

Ended up running 145 bhp with some fancy parts and standalone ecu

Then I moved onto a car I have always wanted from a young age, vaux hall nova Sri:

then, took the plunge to be ripped off with insurance at 18, my 172 ph1

Had a few cars In between, but nothing worth mentioning

And now my 200
