I've done a car history thread before (see here: car history) but I figured this one deserved a thread of it's own.
Pictures aren't great, but away to Ireland for a week so will hopefully get a couple of good ones while I'm away.
Collection day:
First fill up. I'll be getting friendly with my local petrol station...
Does the dog fit?
In its usual home on a rainy Edinburgh street. Girlfriend's X1 behind...
Couple of nice ones in the sunshine today...
Comments welcome!

Thanks for the kind comments.
As for the X1 - she is is a doctor and needs to be able to get to and from work in various places in all weather, and likes BMWs. It does the job just fine!

I love these, really keen on them. Is the driving experience as good as the hype?
You have gone down in my estimation by also having an X1 in the family, though...
I'm hugely impressed with it. As has been said elsewhere, there isn't an awful lot of steering feel, but it is astonishingly quick, sounds fantastic and rides very well. Haven't really had a chance for a proper back road blast yet.You have gone down in my estimation by also having an X1 in the family, though...

It does pain me though, to see a nice car like that parked on the street. A car like that deserves a garage, or at least a driveaway....
Sitting on the street does it no harm! The Nur said:
For some reason I am really taking a fancy to these and yours looks lovely, good stuff
Also, any pictures of that yellow z4?
Fortunately no pictures - it was hideous!! All sorts of yellow bits on the inside too. Also, any pictures of that yellow z4?
Thanks for all the kind comments - it's proving to be a fantastic car to live with. Will get some more pictures up at the weekend from some recent adventures.

I recon I could live with the looks, when at the helm as they say, beauty is only skin deep, it's what lies below on this car that counts.....I wouldn't chop my 1M in for one but sharing the stable with a 4 door would be a go'er. Looking forward to seeing your out and about pics.
Love the thread on your 1M - it looks incredible! I had a look at one once or twice, but decided that with the amount of time I'm stuck in traffic in town or on the motorway it would just be a little too hardcore for me day to day.Well this thread is LONG overdue an update. About 5.5k miles into ownership and still very, very impressed. To me it's a little GT car - rides well, comfortable over long distances, fking fast - but steering feel aside, is also great on an A/B road blast.
Some pictures over the months since I picked it up. First thing to note (and this will upset some people on here!) is that most of the time it's absolutely filthy...
Up in the north of Scotland:
Showing that you can fit passengers behind a 6 foot 5 driver...!
On dog duty again on a trip over to Ireland:
A wee summary of a weekend away:
Dirty once again, on the Isle of Skye:
And finally, being admired on a Scottish PH run. This was a great day out, especially following a 997 Turbo, 996 GT3 and 996 C4S through some fantastic countryside. Our little convoy made rather a lot of noise!

Nice pictures! I have a 5 door auto in estoril blue. Only had it for a couple of weeks, but love the split personality of the car.
Can recommend the M Performance exhaust, sounds great (found the standard exhaust a little too polite) yet does not drone on the motorway. Also retains the active exhaust flap. Pricey but worth it.
Thank you! Quite tempted by the exhaust, but like you say it's quite pricey...Can recommend the M Performance exhaust, sounds great (found the standard exhaust a little too polite) yet does not drone on the motorway. Also retains the active exhaust flap. Pricey but worth it.

I still remember looking in my rear view mirror down Galston Gorge...
Thought about a cheeky remap yet?
DRIFT WEAPON!! I remember how much lock it needed to catch that - had such a slow steering rack!Thought about a cheeky remap yet?
Not at the moment, it's very quick as it is just now.

Very nice, looks similar to mine which I picked up last month. You've summarised well that it's a mini GT car. I would expect a hot hatch to provide high levels of driver involvement and entertainment at fairly moderate speeds whereas vague steering feedback and excellent refinement make the 135 less 'rewarding' unless you're really exploiting the power.
It's still a great steer however and such a great place to sit everyday. I'm looking forward to my next 3 years of ownership!
How did you find it through the Scottish winter? Did you opt for manual or auto?
You chose your colour well I went for the auto based on the mini GT theme. Also specced the wood trim - don't laugh, it looks lovely! Will get round to getting some interior photos up when it's a bit cleaner. It's still a great steer however and such a great place to sit everyday. I'm looking forward to my next 3 years of ownership!

It coped fine the odd time I had to use it in the snow/slush - not great, but then I wouldn't expect it to be. Our other household car is a 4wd X1, so have that to fall back on when it's nasty outside.

The black grills really suit it, just wandering what mpg you're actually getting?
Thanks!Averaging about 28mpg. But 90% of my journeys are in the centre of Edinburgh, no more than 5 miles at a time. Remaining journeys are 5% motorway, and 5% Sunday morning drives (about 15mpg on them!). As a point of reference I used to get about 23-24mpg from an E46 330i auto with the same usage.
