Hi All,

Just some background information on my Mk4 which was recently in the PHers'cars write up. Hopefully it'll be of some interest to some of you.

Back in 2008 I had been looking for something new as I'd had a couple of Clio Mk1 16v's and just got a tad bored of the hot hatch scene and wanted to go old skool. The plan was to get either a Mk1 or Mk1 Granada or Mk4 or 5 Cortina and drop a Cossie lump or tuned Pinto in and do a budget kick about weekend toy.

But after some searching I found this Mk4 for sale most of the work I'd wanted to do already completed. So after nipping down to take a look at it.. I brought it

The spec is below

Fresh fully built stage 3 2.1 unleaded Pinto engine from Burton Power with new 45 DCOE's
Competition exhaust manifold and system
Electronic ignition and rev limiter
Performance non vacuum distributor
Oil cooler system with catch tank
5 speed gearbox with quick shift
New Gaz adjustable shocks all round
Lowered 2" all round with new springs
Poly bushes used all round
New 2.8 Capri calipers and discs
performance pads and shoes
Recaro front seats
15x7 minilites

Since owning it I have stripped and prepped the whole inside of the car re-painting and stone-chipping vital areas and just generally detailed it and enjoyed it. It's had a few new trick bits added since and I hope to get her back on the road next year with a more user friendly engine such as a Zetec as the pinto hates every day traffic due to the savage cam.

Will pop some photos up over the weekend

It does look like that but it's just the way the pictures show it. Its fully legal and passed MOT's like it before
