X300 + X308 "R"
Discussion
Seeing as there seems to be alot of love for the older XJ's and especially XJR's I thought I'd put up a couple of stories about 2 XJR's from the old mans current fleet.
He's had a few XJR's and has finally settled on these two. The intention is to end up with one of the best of each model.
The X300:
Bought a year ago as a standard 70k mile BRG car. As I said the intention is to get the car properly sorted and in "As New" condition. So far, the following work has been undertaken:
Ensure the engine is fully sorted and running well. Inspection showed crack manifolds:
As a result new manifolds were fitted and whilst at it a compelte brand new complete head was sourced direct from Jaguar for a great price through a "Connection" . Both these are now fitted and the engine runs great.
Rear parking sensors were then installed, ensuring they were as subtle as possible:
Clean up the underside and repair any corrosion. Then a full underseal process and cavity wax. Some corrosion was found which was corrected and protected:
Attention has most recently been turned to the outside where it has had fresh paint and brand new pin stripes complimented by re-furbed spotless wheels.
Mid - paint and no stripes
Finshed article, to be photographed professionally soon.
More photos to come once out of hibernation for the winter
Unfortunately my Father may sell this as he does now want a manual and is runnign out of space to store Jags.
The X308
Bought 10 years ago with 15k on the clock, now sitting on 33k
Car has had similar waxoil treatment and has been breathed on by paramount performance with:
Adjustable weighted steering
Full SS exhaust
Lowered springs
Supercharger pulley upgrade
New Intercooler
Open filter - To be brought back to standard eventually
Goodrich hoses
Front lower mesh
The car is in stunning condition and one of the best i have seen. The interior is hoenstly unmarked or cracked.
It is due a claybar and mopping session in January
Underseal and Waxoil:
I shall update this once this car has been mopped with some proper exterior pictures
Just sold an X308 with 4.2 conversion again due to lack of space, lets see your R's.....

XJR500BHP - that's a really neat job on the parking sensors. I see you are in Sussex, is your dad local and does he have his own Jag repair garage - there are a lot of different cars in the background.
The chap who does the work owns a company in Eastbourne that specialises in Jaguars. My Father knows him through the JEC club. Not sure what with Pistonhead rules whether I can tell you the business name.Thought I'd put up a mini update, the black Jag has resently been fully clay bar'd and now looks stunning. Next job as a service and fresh oil.
The Green XJR has had some more work done on the paint and wears a new number plate, looking very British
Next update will be once th sun is shining
Cheers
