Just got this to jointhe evo ixon the drive. My first rear wheel drive car and love it to bits!!! 28,000 miles, smg 2 box. Amazing bit of kit. Oh, and for those of you who are worried that I may start adding carbon bits as I have to my evo, then fear not, this is remaining exactly as standard.

It's an 04. The red leather is beautiful. doesn't look tacky at all. i did get a small discount off the price but not muuch. it was pricey but it literally looks and drives like a brand new car. carbon airbox is top of the list, i have heard the induction noise is beautiful so will be thinking about that. finally the amg 2 box....... well after the first half an hour driving i thought i had made a terrible mistake. however after spending a lot more time driving it (day after i got it i drove from oxford to inverness and then on to aberdeen in one day) and giving myself the chance to learn how to drive it.....i absolutely love it. it is almost like learning to drive again but once you do it's very good. i admit i never use the full auto mode but thats because i have a slight control/ocd issue.
Also will bmw do the subframe check for free if the car is under 10 years?

Thanks for the comments.

And sorry but the evo is staying carboned up because i like it like that.

That looks lovely. One thing that would improve it and I did the same to my E46 330cd is to get rid of that tape deck in the dash. I bought a BMW business CD unit off ebay and it was plug and play in 5 minutes. Really makes the dash look smarter.
Already been replaced with an Alpine head-unit. Soon to be a Dynavix sat-nav unit. Just have to relocate the climate controls. Seems easy enough to do.

Hmm. I've read a lot of bad things about those units, have they improved now? I have an entire OEM Sat Nav and Harmon Kardon conversion if you end up going the factory route.
How much did the conversion cost if I may ask?

i bought a double din super-dooper unit before i realised bmw's 'brilliant' design. Luckily it will fit in my other car but the alpine head unit i have in at the mo looks pooh. Would rather have the OEM look. May well do this conversion. Where did you buy the unit and adaptor plates?

Minor things done to her. I didn't like the silver kidney grilles so replaced them with carbon jobs. However, then the indicators were spoiling the look so I fitted some darker LED units from America. I think it looks a lot better, a bit meaner. That's it for modding plans although I am slowly leaning towards an ESS supercharger conversion.

off to BMW yesterday to sort out a wee chip and a scuff and to have a carbon csl bootlid painted and fitted, carbon csl diffuser, eibach springs (25mm front, 10mm rear drop) and a set of bbs csl wheels. Will post pics when I get her back.

Doh, bmw didn't want anything todo with none bmw parts so the bootlid and diffuser are not on but the paint has been sorted and the wheels are on. Delighted with it.

oh dear, all this hate for the indicators. The old ones were soooooo white and really looked like the two piece unts that they are. Now they look like a single unit...and a bit meaner. IMO every time I see another M3 now I just think they look a bit daft, like an afterthought.

They are depos, LED depos.

And yes I am tinkering a bit but keeping all original bits to return it to standard when the time arises (although I love it so much I can't see me ever selling it)

I have kept all of the bits. I appreciate the fact that this is a very low mileage car for it's age, a rather a special car and I do feel a responsibility to care for it and keep it lovely, hence the spending of 500 squids for a tiny chip and a very small scuff, I want her to be perfect. I always keep all original parts from any of my cars so they can be put back to standard. Personally I think I have improved the cars looks and am very happy with it. Each to their own I suppose.

Thought I would bump this due to me fitting a new set of shiny wheels biggrin

Got rid of the spacers too as they were rubbing quite badly.

I do love the way Super Sprint is reflected here

Centre caps are now gone and back to the original BMW ones.

Yes it is an Evolve set-up. Stupidly expensive but it is worth it for the noise……….the induction sound is just incredible. It sounds like a V8 race car. The air box together with the alpha-n tune also added 30 BHP and has improved the way the car drives massively. She pulls so much harder lower down the revs now. Cannot recommend the guys at Evolve enough.

I understand that messing with these cars is like heresy on PH but it would be a boring world if we all liked the same things.
