After complaining of how slow and dull my Seat Leon was, I decided to take it upon myself to get a proper hot hatch.

Here are a few photos from when I picked the car up

I've done quite a lot since owning the car, including both belts and dephaser and various cosmetic touches such as cup spoiler, fabia splitter and colour coding the badges on the doors.

I also did my first track day on Wednesday (2/10/13), I decided on Cadwell out of impulse and must say I'm glad I chose it as I had a great amount of fun and getting to see what the fuss was about Clio Sports smile

Mine was one of 117 in it's original specification, obviously added the cup spoiler as it was disappointing it sharing a spoiler from a standard Clio

It's a Scorpion SRN019, the louder of the 2 Scorpions although it isn't that loud

Thanks mate, I got this car for the purpose of doing track days.

I was going to buy a second set of wheels purely for track wheels but I've nowhere to store them so opted for some Conti Sport 3's on the 16's.

When I bought the car I replaced the brakes on the car, the rears are genuine Renault disks with KTEC Racing brake pads with a full Brembo disk and pads up front.

At Cadwell there was an initial burning smell coming from them after my first 20min session on track but after that they were fine, never came close to fading on the day. I did notice I had lost the initial bite of the brakes for a few days afterwards but it seems to be coming back now.

Has anyone experience on the Whiteline RARB? I know on the Ibiza FR's they were a worthwhile improvement but that had considerably more body roll compared to the Clio which hasn't got much roll.

I am from time to time, I'll have to try get in contact with you some how when I'm next up. I'm gutted I missed out on those Eibach springs you had up for grabs!

Are they a worth while upgrade over the standard springs? Although I've already got the cup springs.

A lad I know had just had some ITB's fitted and mapped to his 172 cup and it sounds immense!

Yeah it has the cup dampers. How much did you originally sell them for?

I hate it when they do that, can't get past you and then do a sneaky move in a 30. You need to get yours on track, it's scary how far you can push these cars and how they hold themselves against much more powerful cars.

I was only about 3-4s slower than my mates Impreza STi with 320bhp, coilovers and R888's, which in my opinion isn't that bad

I think some of it was down to driver skill and the fact his car is worth a lot more than mine!

Should both try get Croft booked next year!

No, my uncle goes to watch the motorbikes do the hill climb and sometimes does it himself too.

Car is going to stay at it is at the moment until the new year when I've some funds to tinker with it further.

Very nice, good colour as well!

I keep looking at these in the classifieds.

With my GT off the road at the moment i'm getting bored of the current shopping car (1.0 corsa) and thinking of swapping it for one of these.
Do it.
As AGK has said, do it. You won't regret it, similar quid quality to the Corsa but with soft touch materials though. Spec on them are good too with xenons as standard and climate.

Decided to put the colourful ClioSport sticker on the rear window yesterday. In the process of doing some googling I also found out that the 182 has heated wing mirrors too

Gone back to the standard headunit too, got fed up of the Alpine unit throwing an error up when I connected my iPhone 5 up to it. Can't complain as it is pretty old. Bought an aux cable but need to route it a different way rather than through the glove box,

Bought some gloss black dash strips to replace the standard satin silver ones. Gave them a good polish and fitted them, just seems to make the inside a bit classier smile

How do you get them to work? It's been bugging me that mine didn't seem to have heated mirrors.
When you put the heated rear screen on it automatically puts the heated mirrors on. When you've turned it on, give it a few mins and should be nice and warm

Were the recaros the reclining ones? I'd love some trendlines from the Trophy but they go for £800 which is a lot of money in my opinion.

I'm after some cooksport springs once they are back in stock

Well they did recline, but only by rotating the tilt adjuster. So it took about three seconds instead of one second to get someone in the back. This massive inconvenience was more than made up for by the fact that the seats and sub frames cost about £350 all in!
That is definitely worth if for the inconvenience! If I could find some at that price they would get bought for sure!

I've just done this to mine!

Oh no!

Cambelt snap or did the auxiliary belt go taking out the cambelt?
