I have been on with my Escort project for about 3 years now - it should have taken a lot less time but as always other projects have got in the way!
I have just had the shell returned from the paint shop (the only work I have farmed out) so I am now going to rebuild it picture by picture for you all to comment on!
What I can not believe is that Finlay has beaten me to it - well done that man.

Testing took place on a very wet day at the Teesside kart track. Handling felt very good considering all the chassis changes. But for some reason the the engine was down on power - which was a good thing when you see how wet it was! Also I had a problem with the brakes which I hope I have traced to the peddle box which I have since modified so fingers crossed!

Had a few hours spare to work on the rear end. But found the pass side hub needs bearings so only done the drivers side for now.

Poor picture I know - looks like when I used the flash the picture was too big to download. Will take some more pictures with the camera on a different setting.

I have used a modified escort bias pedal box, but mounted further back. It has the monaro master cylinder added too. What have you used?
Tried to fit the motor today but the manifolds are now fouling the bonnet!

I have washed the engine and box off today hence the strange fitment of the manifolds!

TOO MUCH TECHNOLOGY!

I have just been checking the bores with an endoscope when found this on the 6th bore I checked! Sorry can not upload image! But after further checks I found the same mark on every piston and in the same place! I even fastened a tie wrap down the side of the scope so I could size the indent - turns out to be about 3mm in dia!
I did ste myself for a moment or two!

Hi Don
Is your engine dry sumped? If so I may have bought the sump of your engine!

Engine and box in today. As you can see from the pictures it goes in from below - hence the height of lift required.
