PFL performance blue focus ST

I run a stage 3 ST now on RS Injectors running dreamscience Mod-X-RS and what a beast! Day to day I can't think of many quicker cars... 330bhp and 400lb ft of torque see to that!
The modding bug is expensive though...
A little video of exhaust noise...
The noise is epic with the full mongoose exhaust and open cone induction as well and fuel consumption hasn't changed considering the extra 100 bhp and 160lb ft!!

It's in a heatshield and is from a reputable tuning company who have no doubt spent a lot of time and effort developing it, it utilises the cold air feed from the slam panel, I have monitored the inlet air temperature in many circumstances and I have never once noticed the heat heading about 3-4 degrees above the outside air temperature.
I think it's a bit of a misconception to be honest as a lot of big power RS's run an open filter in the engine bay even with no shielding :-) each to there own anyways I am happy with it and it's good to not follow the heard sometimes, especially when it makes no odds performance wise.
As for the acceleration times I haven't figured it... I imagine with a good start it would dip below 6 to 60, in gear is where it's at though and 30-120 it's pretty serious... It's shocked a few expensive motors in gear anyways.

Well a little update, I have now had the car lowered on a Bilstein B12 set up so eibach 20-25mm lowering springs and Bilstein dampers.
The overall comfort level and ride quality of the car isn't changed very much at all the car just feels under better body control... Tauter if you will... But show it some corners and the difference is marked! The car just seems to grip and grip, although costing considerably more than just the eibach lowering springs alone I can't recommend this set up enough for fast road use.
On track the suspension might still prove a little soft but that remains to be seen as I haven't yet had the car on track but could be tempted in the coming year... Anyways enough talking here's a couple of pics, I will get some proper one on the weekend if I get some time, these were hastily snapped on my dinner time.
Cheers,
Carlos

Just been for a proper blast and wow... The difference is night and day from the standard car, the car is much more neutral at the limit and the extra grip over standard is incredible! It just grips rips and goes now without a hint of understeer until your really really pushing on... It almost seems to 4 wheel drift a little at this point where it would have just ploughed straight on before on the standard suspension :-)
The car basically feels like a lightened hunkered down R version of the standard car , happy doesn't cover it!

The uprated driveshafts are expensive, I thought the rumbling issues had been sorted with the new driveshafts that haven't long been out??
As for the ST being heavy I don't really think that it is all that heavy... 1317kg for the prefaced lift 3 door around 80kg lighter than the facelifted one and a good 100+kg lighter than the RS so making them handle isn't as big of a job as you might think, the trick is getting the front end sorted in my opinion as obviously that's a big lump of an engine to control!
Rolling speed is where my car is deceptively quick I shocked a new shape M3 (v8) not all that long ago rolling from 30-70ish... On a local dual carriageway ;-) it's the torque that does it, in gear it pulls ridiculously well!

Yeah that's not an I've been there sticker at least just where the suspension is tested haha... What shape M5 have you got E39?? Me and my mate were discussing the sound of my car the other day and although it isn't the most expensive car ever it's definitely one of the best sounding ones to my ear... Especially with the modifications that I have done over the time I've owned it :-)
It's an ST-2 mate but I have changed the stereo so I have sat nav etc with that... I actually prefer the cloth seats as well :-) I will have to see if I can get the girlfriend interested in filming it for a drive by... But don't hold your breath haha... You get the occasional crack from the exhaust on an up shift which is good :-) I can't imagine that your car exactly sounds terrible! Done much to it!?

A little update, today I had the alignment checked and tweaked slightly at the back to rain the negative camber in that was caused from lowering and then took a couple of pictures that better show the lowered stance :-)
I also removed the insulation from under the bonnet to better aid cooking the engine and let a bit more turbo noise into the cabin under load from the open cone filter, it's fair to say I am pretty chuffed with it now :-) maybe a RARB down the pipeline could be getting added but other than that it's where I want it to be now :-)
