Thought I'd start a thread on here, it'll be slow progress as I never have time to do stuff on the cars so bear with me.

I'll start with a little bit about each car.

1986 Audi 80cl

I bought this one about 10 years ago with 53k miles on it. Found in the tiniest of ads in my local paper. Went to view it, was pink and faded and not running. Went down the next day with a new battery, noticed a few issues and got it for the princely sum of £120. Been doing bits and bobs to it over that time to get it running and looking presentable but eventually it'll need more serious welding etc to make it minted. So with this in mind, I decided to get something else to use while this was being restored.

1985 Audi 90cd

I bought this one 4 weeks ago after seeing it up for sale about 9 months ago then again 2 months ago. Spoke to the guy, got more pics of it, had a restoration done in 2010, did about 4k miles since then. Made a deal and met the guy in Dundee. All I cuold say was, it was a 10 metre car. Looked good from 10 metres but up close, a bit rough. Ran sweet though, so easy project for a while. Has 131k miles on it at the moment.

And now the bit you were waiting for.....

Had a bit of time at work so decided to take the 90 for a wee jaunt to work. Gave it a wash and check over and took some piccies with the 80.

First time they've met laugh

Plans for the 80 are to get on with the resto at some point so it's going into storage until then. The 90 will be cleaned up, bit of mech work and wheels and a couple other mods to improve the looks.

Took the 90 to a VW/Audi show in Kendal at the weekend. Did the 310 mile trip with no issues at all

Weather was great, I nearly got sunburnt....

And yes, the belly is going....

rather appropiate to take the Audi to Kendal as the JRM registration is originally from Cumbria so its kinda gone home
Funny you should mention that, the car was originally registered in Carlisle and the first 3 owners were also in Carlisle. The first owner to have it outside of the area was the guy I bought it from up in Fraserburgh.

Nice 90. Hardly ever see those these days.

Love the period wheels (BBS?) and full-width rear light panel - nice '80s retro touches.

Have always liked the C3 100 and Coupe from the same era as well, though I doubt I'll ever own one.
The wheels are actually speedline fake splits from the later B3/4 80/90 model along with the boot badges which shall be going as soon as I get a chance. The rear light panel is fitted to the 90/100cs/200/V8 models.

Keep a look out, you could find a bargain wink or an overpriced heap from a 'collector' frown

Picked up a nice set of wheels for this. Need to get adaptors and tyres and then we're jamming biggrin

Getting them refurbed in champagne silver for the centres and bright silver for the barrels smile

Well, the wheels are finally done. Had them refinished in Audi champagne silver for the centres and BBS silver for the barrels.

Still looking at adaptors but will see how wide or narrow I can go once the wheels have been offered up to the car.

CD was usually a higher spec, mainly given to the 5 cylinder cars. They were regarded as posh Volkswagens to be honest. They only really came into the fore as rivals to Merc and BMW in the 90s and 2000s

So....I found these.......

Once I've whacked some tyres on and a couple layers of clearcoat, they'll be fitted as they're direct fitment with no spacers or any other gubbins.

Now, what to do with the BBS RKs.......
