Standard Touring Elise S2 + Bonus French hatchback content

So far I've changed/replaced:

. Gear stick heat shrink (Old one had a hole in it?)
. Dooe card bolts + clips in door frame (one was missing.)
. New floor mat fixings (2 missing)
. Fixed the non-working odometer button.
. Anti rattle door striker pins.
. Front track rod ends
. ARB drop links
. ARB poly bushes
. Under seat carpets
. Removed old velcro from sill carpets, and fitted new stuff.
. 3/4 number plate on front.
. Bosch aero wiper
. Remove the locking wheel nuts, and got standard spline drive ones.
. Larini Clubsport Exhaust
. Unknown decat
. Black leather steering wheel insert.
. Alloy inlet with 52mm throttle body.
. Fit MIL cheater loom
. Nylatron Gear linkage bushes
. Changed front grill with lamps to lampless grill.
. Geo setup. 135 cams (Purchased now)
. Speakerless A-Pillars and radio delete.

Stuff to do:

. Powder-coat wishbones, ARB, re bush and re ball joints.
. Decent maintenance
. Seats/Door cards in leather




I'll get some more pictures tomorrow.

An Elise is next on the list for me, but I would love 6-12 months in an R26.R in between.

Haven't got one lol, I get a lift to/from work every day, and missus works from home quite often, so I'll take her Megane if I need it, say to Run or bike club.

R26.R is something speacial, complete different car to Elise, very forgiving and a lot easier to drive quickly.

So today I fitted the alloy inlet manifold, 52mm throttle body and a decat pipe.

I have a Larini club sport fitted too now, and I changed the centre insert of the steering wheel over to this:



Also bought a lamp-less front grill, and 2 brand new lamps (One was bust, and I'm not sure which one will look better yet, lampless or not)

Fitted 135 cams today! Took around 3 hours. Here's my procedure (probs wrong)

. Driver rear wheel off.
. Arch liner out.
. Plastic belt cover off.
. Spark plugs/coil pack out.
. Turn engine by hand to line inlet/exhaust up.
. Tensioner off.
. Pulleys looked with tool, then undone off the cams.
. Rocker cover off
. Cam carrier off.
. Scrape remnants off old gasket off, and apply new
. New cams and seals in.
. Cam carrier back on
. Rocker cover (and new gasket) back on.
. Pulleys bolted back to camshaft, then pulleys locked in timing position .
. Belt back on and tensioner back on.
. Plastic cam-belt cover back on, spark plugs and coil packs back in.

Fitted my speaker-less grills tonight.





Looking a lot better, but slowly de-touring my elise it seems. Radios out, no drivers lamps, and I rekcon I may remove the passengers foot rest and sort out new carpet for both foot wells!

So finally sorted out the whine that appeared when I changed cams, turns out completely messed up tensioner.......So fitted new one and tensioned correctly, fitted a water pump (And cleaned expansion tank) and a new alternator belt........Was gonna do cam belt, but it looked in good condition, wasn't due, and I didn't have any slim 1/2", nor the means to cut one down.

I fitted my speaker blanks and stereo delete too, looks far smoother now.



At a dilemma now, after the summer, I don't know whether to:

A. Keep, and look after for a bit, and spend money on houses
B. Keep, fit some motorsport seats, harness', and Stack Oil temp/pressure gauge in a anodized Alu radio blank (And rebuild suspension/brakes)
C. Sell, and buy an S2 exige N/A or a TT RS (so the missus can drive it more and enjoy it as much as me)
