My new Clio V6 mk2 - "project investment"
Discussion
Hey,
So I finally got to meet a hero on Saturday, I've always wanted a clio v6 and unlike most other cars, with time I've only wanted it more.
So I finally bit the bullet and went to buy one on Saturday, I've never driven one before, so went kind of blind (didn't even know if I would fit at 6'7) but all was well.
They say don't meet your hero's and to be honest I was half expecting to be underwhelmed, however I was impressed, it was as good if not better than I thought in the flesh and to drive.
So this one is a 2004 Mk2, done 34,000 miles (on the high side for these believe it or not), it's in great condition, completely standard, bodywork/paint is good, with just a coupe of touch ups needed, not bad for a 10 year old car though.
My plans are just to keep it original and drive it as little as possible, the only 2 things I want to do are fit the aero blade wipers and when I can afford them install the recaro trendline seats that were available on these from the factory.
It's then just a case of enjoying it in the summer, trying not to put too many miles on it, and hoping to break even (takin into account insurance/maintenance/tax etc) or perhaps even profit.
These were selling for about £10,000-£11,000 2-3 years ago so they are climbing already.
Anyway, here's some rubbish iPhone pics, more to follow.

Well done for diving in, let us know how it goes.

Seats are about £800 for a mint set, ready to bolt stright in
Escy, I do disagree and hope your wrong, but then I would say that
A mint (but standard) 900 mile car sold for around £46,000 this week to a private collector, so there is hope. (I know this is a different league to mine but a good sign none the less)
Martin, that's what I'm struggling with at the moment, it's helped by the fact that to get it on and off the driveway I need 2 people, 2 planks of wood and 15 mins

Dont get me wrong, im not expecting it to rocket in price and be rolling in it.
However if I can keep it for say 5 years, and in that time it doesnt loose any money id be over the moon.
Better than buying something like another 370Z for £16,000 that costs more to run and insure (tax is about £500 a year) and then in 5 years be worth £5,000
