Hello ! I am new to piston heads but I wanted to share this conversion , it's the biggest mod I have ever had done and am really excited !!!! I will be doing some of the work my self and will be repainting it my self in the winter (I have a bodyshop with my family in Birmingham )
A short history since I started in December 2013
After a long time trying to find an engine pull out I found an ls1 (5.7 v8 with 16000 miles from a monaro I eventually received this in early February )
I found a tidy mazda rx8 in mid February with a seized engine
In-between then I have brought lots of parts ready to put together
New uprated cam, valve springs, sump etc
Hsd coilovers
18" rota alloys
I brought some drilled and grooved discs all round and some cl brake pads all round
I have since brought a brembo brake calliper and disc upgrade
Polly bush kit for all the front suspension
I also had a sump baffle made
It goes in to a friends garage ( Dyno torque in Birmingham) on Monday to start the conversion I am really excited I will post pictures and updates as we go through

So the car has been at Craig's a few weeks now and is coming on, he has removed the engine bed , bolted and welded the new engine mounts and welded the new brackets for the steering rack to it and has had it powder coated
The diff has been resupported and Polly bushed
He has fitted new rear discs and cl pads with braided hoses , all the front arms have been Polly bushed and a hub spacer fitted to take the brembo brake conversion ( Craig has fabricated all the brackets and spacers )
Next week he is hoping to fit the new cam, sump , valve springs etc then get the engine and box mounted !!!
I will update in a week or so

So I know it's been longer than I said for an update but Craig has been busy with the driftworks team etc and I haven't found the time to update!!!
Since the last update Craig and Carlos have managed to move the abs unit and fit braided brake hoses, move the front anti roll bar and strengthen the mounts to the chassis , remount the rear anti roll bar and replace the rear drop links
Carlos has welded all mounts to the new radiator and fitted cooling fans
Craig has now fitted the new cam , valve springs, sump, dip stick and sump baffle
The ecu has arrived and nod is working on the electrics , so all going well the engine should be mounted this week

The new steering rack ends have been fitted, exhaust headers have been fitted , radiator mounted and some of the pipe work done ! It looks a tight fit and all the engineering work that dynotorque has been doing so far is of an excellent quality

I have had a short drive in it on Saturday but due to the damp/cold roads it would just spin up on slight acceleration but the rest of the car felt amazing! And the work done at dynotourque looks almost factory, so it's off to the body shop next for a repaint
